When I met George almost 10 years ago, I knew quickly that I don't need to look anywhere else. This shop is amazing, the artists are all incredibly talented, and everyone is super professional.

Cameron did a large spider on my calf last year that looks absolutely incredible. Unfortunately I ended up losing a little bit of the shadow pigment during the healing process. I finally got around to asking him for a retouch and even though it was a whole year later he fixed the shadow and even added more color completely for free. If I ever get more tattoos they will definitely be from Cameron.

This is the best tattoo shop I've ever been to. The staff is friendly and talented, the shop is incredibly clean, and the music playlists are always great (especially for long sessions). George is the best artist I've ever had the pleasure to be tattooed by, great shop. Highly recommend.

I'm in the process of getting a large leg tattoo from the very talented George Campise. He is friendly and laid-back. I get so many compliments on my tattoo. I came in with just a vague idea of what I wanted and he came up with something better than what I'd pictured in my head. The shop is gorgeous too; it's open, nicely decorated and clean. All the tattooers there were friendly and accommodating. I live in Mountain View, but it's totally worth the drive!
tl;dr: the shop is pretty, the tattooers are friendly, George is awesome. Highly recommend dropping by

For my first experience getting a tattoo (and I never got it), this was the worst.
Not only did George cancel on me twice, extending my project over 90 days, when I finally asked for a refund It turns out that he completed only 1/5th of my project, and decided that he still deserves my deposit.
I'm currently suing George.
He is an amazing artist, and if he kept to his word this review would entirely different. It is not. Just be aware that if you book with George and he's not thrilled with your project he will cancel and cancel and cancel and then tell you how he really worked hard on your project even though in over 90 days he completed only a 1/5th of what you wanted.
Pathetic.

War Horse Tattoo is the most respectful and respected tattoo shop within the Bay Area.
Before I decided to get my first tattoo, now one of many from War Horse Tattoo, I visited with different artists/shops across the Bay Area and reviewed all their works online for a little over a year. What I found during that time were bunches of dirty shops with artists that frankly seemed bothered by my interest in their service. Second, most all the shops felt unkept and like I was expected to know what I want now or to be happy with whatever they had avail (flash). Find somewhere that reflects who you are. An artist willing to work with you and be willing to lend their artistic values to your inspirations. Listen to them.
War Horse Tattoo was immediately my favorite shop I visited with during that time. Everyone in the shop was so welcoming and genuinely interested in getting to know me. I have always felt like the shop is a second home. Thanks Deb!
It was clear George and company were all skilled at their own styles. Side note: each artist has unique style, and you will get the best artist for what specifically you want in your art. No one tries to hoard clients.
George Campise is a wizard with an inky needle. He has completed my right torso/stomach, entire left leg (butt to ankle) and is currently working on my right sleeve. I started my tattoo journey around 26. Im 30 now and have since had two other artists from War Horse Tattoo mark me with ink. I Plan on having each person from the shop work on me.
Tattooing is sacred. Don't rush it. Feel comfortable. This is a bond between the artist, their work and you - forever.
Patience is to yours and the artists benefit. If you go into a shop willy-nilly you're probably not expecting anything more than a fast-food type experience. DO YOUR RESEARCH. TALK TO ARTISTS AND PATRONS AT THE SHOP WITH TATTOOS FROM THAT ARTIST. KNOW WHAT TO EXPECT.
War Horse Tattoo is a family of Tattooers which individually reflect the mastery of the craft as well as the upmost respect for the art that is summed up as Tattooing. I hope this review sheds some light on this shop and helps you on your tattoo journey.
I feel like a part of that family too and that makes my tattoos that much more a piece of my life, me.
