Sink or Swim Tattoo

I got a tattoo done by Raisa last Friday and they did amazing work with what I wanted, especially for my first tattoo. A couple of my friends got tattoos done by Adam and those turned out awesome too! Hopefully I will be able to get my next tattoo done at this shop! I loved the atmosphere and how not harsh the shop was. Good vibes all around!

These guys are top notch. Easily have some of the most talented artists on the coast. Willow specifically. She's got skills man. Simplest way to put it. Will be going back again shortly!

Just left this establishment with my sister who had an appointment to get a tattoo. This was the oddest and most offensive experience I've had at a professional business. My sister called me over to ask about the placement of some lettering and a music note because she wasn't sure about it. They (the tattoo artist) was playing around with the placement of the design. I said to my sister, "I don't know it does look a little strange there" maybe try inside over here instead?" The tattooist got in my face saying I was being rude and offensive towards her "artistry". I immediately apologized and said "I'm so sorry I was just referring to placement NOT the design at all, I didn't mean to offend you" She then proceeded to criticize me again.. and told my sister I had "aggressive energy".. (we are the chillest people on earth btw) .. they then said "I need a minute" and walked away.. so I told my sister I was going to the store next door so that she could have some space.. let's just say that my sister left as well. Communicating what you want on your body to a tattooist is a vital part of the conversation, I'm still not exactly sure why that was such an issue. In no way did we criticize their work.. it's just letters mostly in fact, not an original design, no pictures. Perhaps they were having a bad day, but still chose to be incredibly unprofessional. In fact, calling me rude and offensive was the actual offense.. it was uncalled for and completely out of left field.

All the artists are great. The atmosphere is fantastic. I've been coming here for many years and will continue

Loved this place. The people were so cool. Adam did outstanding work on my party frog peace. The flash art was spectacular. And the best choice of movies to get tattooed to.

Never was interested in a tattoo until recently. I've been to plenty of beach-side tattoo shops that had painfully bright lighting, annoyingly loud music, and not the best looking people or equipment. This place was the opposite of all of that. Artists were all amazing and professional and friendly, even to a newbie like me. The shop is well decorated with a fantastic atmosphere. My artist answered all of my newbie questions and I felt totally and completely comfortable. The quality of this shop made my experience much better and I already have future appointments made here to get more tattoos. I would recommend this shop endlessly.

This shop is awesome, along with everyone in it. It's clean, not cluttered and the walls are lined with art and animal heads. Pretty damn cool. More importantly, the artists are all awesome. Top notch. I wasn't sure where to go after moving out of The Bay Area and then I found Jillian Wefald at Sink or Swim. I've had one session so far and it's pretty clear that she's an inhuman wizard. She's that good. Stop thinking about it and go.

Got a large, bad forearm tattoo here. Explained to the artist of how I didn't like it that much. The drawing was awesome however, it did not transcribe very well in skin.. Sure whatever it happens. The artist and I spoke about covering it up so we scheduled for discussing cover up ideas. I came in for that appointment and she wanted to do touch ups on the tattoo I don't like. So I walked out. I've spoken to other artist about the piece and they stated it can't really be covered up due to the size and packed inked. Overall I would like my 1400 back so I can start laser treatment on it. I'm very embarrassed of the piece and has made me wear long sleeves for the time I've had it. Is that fair for you Gary?

If you have tried the rest, now you should try the BEST! This shop is amazing! They are some of the very best in the tattoo business. All the artist and piercer are kind, humorous and damn good at what they do!
