What an amazing experience! Jake is a supremely talented artist and even nicer guy, if that’s possible. The vibe was so laid back and friendly… I couldn’t be happier! I thought I was wrapped up with my work, but I may just have to find another project to start. Wish I could rate higher than 5 stars! Blown away.

When I decided I was going to get my first tattoo, I did a bunch of research on the best shops in LA. American electric was on all of the top lists. I found Mike on their website and saw he does the style of tattoo I was looking to get. We emailed back and forth discussing the design and when I showed up to the appointment the sketch was exactly what I wanted. Mike is a great artist and I’m so stoked with how it came out! The shop itself has a very professional vibe to it and you can tell they take sterilization/safety very seriously. This will definitely be my place to go for my future pieces.

I’ve been coming here for years to see Sean. He’s awesome and can do just about any style... The place is really chill, love all the art and taxidermy on the walls. everyone is nice, the staff is professional, equipment is clean... you feel reassured getting tattoos here. All the artists have portfolios available for consultation.

Great experience! We had appointments that were mixed up and the artist we booked was out of town. The staff was awesome and went ahead and did our tattoos anyway without any hassle. Super fun and would recommend them for a first tattoo as well. The shop was also very clean and well kept.

Justin is the greatest. Super chill personality and his linework is as clean as they come. He is very precise and exact. I am so thrilled that he did my tattoo.
******On a side note my friend had a bad experience with Denise. They were having trouble communicating with each other about the design and so she had to draw a few samples. My friend ultimately didn’t like the end result of the drawings and decided on a tiny heart outline on her wrist. She was charged 275$ for this because Denise was not pleased with having to draw a few mock ups for her client. In my opinion this was not very good business on denise’s Part. Don’t punish your customer for being wary of a bad tattoo. It was my friend’s birthday too and this has really seemed to ruin her mood for the day. I haven’t seen my friend in ten years this is her first time visiting me so I was hoping she would have a happy birthday for us to celebrate together. So overall Denise really made a bad impression as far as ethical pricing.

American Electric Tattoo is probably the best tattoo shop in all of Los Angeles.
As an fyi I have been going to American Electric since 2011, and getting tattooed since long before you were probably born. Aka I've been getting ink since 1993.
I am currently working with (when I have the opportunity and the money) Justin Boyle and he's done probably a half sleeve on both my right and left arms.
I have also gone to a very talented Craig Jackman and I can promise you that any other tattoo artist that has ever been operating under this shop is one of the best in LA.
Sadly enough for all shops (as of July 26th 2020 when I am posting this they are still closed due to my state's panicking governor Newsome.
I not unlike the rest of the world do wholeheartedly miss getting tattooed and working with artists on collaboration between minds and hearts.
Oh tattooed America please come back to us...we need you and your often, silly, beautiful, rude, wild, and even those simply simple and inspiring art.
