Ruby is a truly talented tattoo artist who understands and practices her craft with confidence and ease... and is 100% professional. She's responsive in the inquiry and scheduling process and when you get in front of her, she listens and based on experience and expertise will work with you to create a design you're going to absolutely love, truly appreciate and show off, for sure.
In 2 years, I've had two tattoos by Ruby. One is a ring tattoo and the other is a custom heart chakra, positioned just below my sternum. Ruby's line work, watercolor work, pointillism and saturation are that of someone who has a strong grasp on the multitude of techniques utilized in tattoo design and application. I've followed her work and seen in her social media posts and in-house portfolio that she has not only developed but mastered the skillset she possesses and has the proficiency to design and execute any style. Ruby is fearless in her art and is surprisingly modest, yet rightfully proud, of her work and will walk a client through any question or challenge that may present.
In a recent visit to her shop last month, I was witness to an extraordinary event. A young artist stopped in looking for an apprenticeship opportunity. While Ruby wasn't actively seeking an apprentice and didn't have any opportunities available at the time, she took the time to provide the soon-to-be artist a wealth of tips, ideas and insight into the business. She gave this prospective newcomer to the field such a remarkable gift in sharing her experience and wisdom so this artist could have additional resources, expectations and perspective of what's to come.
When you get a tattoo, it's a very personal commitment and process. And the person you choose to work with you, design the art that will ultimately speak your language and carry your message that will remain with you for a lifetime should be a person you respect and trust. You're selecting and inviting that person into your world, even if for just a few hours, to understand your ideas, wishes and guide you in translating and creating something that has significance enough to you that you're commissioning that person to permanently apply that art to your body.
If you're still reading this, you as a prospective client should (if you're as particular and selective as I am) and need to employ a highly-skilled, respected, proficient, experienced, confident and talented person to make this the best experience and tattoo possible.
