Sloppy Tattoo Bad Experience Bruising

I never give bad reviews but unfortunately this place missed the mark. I was in San Fran for work and knowing what I wanted, I did some research in the area and called around and decided this was the spot to go. The artist drew out the marigold flower tattoo I wanted and it was perfect, but the actual tattoo itself was not. It was sloppy and no where close to a straight line. The worst part was the bruising I experienced immediately which lasted nearly a month. I thought it was just me but a few months later I went to a shop back in Chicago and the artist re-outlined the tattoo and added more flowers (which took longer) and zero bruising and healed perfectly. One bit of advice would be to research the type of work an artist does ahead of time, not assuming all artists can perfect a single needle tattoo.

Bad Experience Poor Communication Unprofessional

I do not really like to give out bad reviews, and I probably would've given 5 stars if not for the bad experience. But this isn't the first negative review this artist has received.

I booked an appointment nearly a month ago, and as I am traveling I could not meet the artist ahead of time. I tried to email them to no avail. When the shop called to reconfirm the appointment a week before I voiced my concern that I could not get a hold of the artist. They assuaged my concerns and all was well.

I arrived for my appointment - which was originally for the day before but they called to reschedule to the following day. The artist didn't even know what I wanted, which I had stated previously in two emails and over the phone with the employee who booked me. Two hours and some brainstorming later he decided to not do the tat - reasoning he wasn't comfortable with it, and I can understand that. But if he would've read the emails sent nearly a month beforehand he could've told me he couldn't do the tat, and I could've scheduled with another artist who could while in San Fran.

I guess the feeling I got from this experience is that the artist didn't have much consideration for the customer. And I left San Fran without a tat.

But the shop is pretty neat inside, also quite clean. And in the end I got my deposit back from them.

Clean Shop Experienced Artist Positive Energy

The shop is clean and well equipped.

Salem is not only really experienced and truly great at what he does... he is also a great person who's positive energy comes out in his work. He is not your average tattoo artist who takes your money, slams some ink into your skin and you're out the door.

Go and check out the shop for yourself and talk to him, you will feel the difference immediately!

disappointed bad design lack of attention poor customer service waste of time waste of money

I would like to tell how much I am disappointed in overall experience. I wanted to give my daughter a great gift and have wonderful experience turning her scars and pain into something beautiful and positive. Instead after few sessions with Salem we had nothing but disappointment in design he slappy drew for us, his lack of attentions to details to tailor this tattoo to the needs of covering her scars. Most at all his personal attitude toward us as clients. We lost time and money. I would not recommend to anyone!

Tattoo Artists Entertaining Collaboration

I've worked with MANY tattoo artists and my two favorites are at this place. Salem and Oliver are great artists as well as entertaining and fun! Go in and talk to them if you want a tattoo. Connect and collaborate! Don't call it in or email it like it's a fast food order. They have a lot of business and there's a reason for that. I've never come across anyone who was unhappy with work they have gotten done there.

Great Experience Recommendation

I've had both sleeves done by Salem and a cover up on my leg. All the pieces are great. I've had work done by him in a shop (Ritual) in Denver and had work done at Eye of the Tiger. It has always been a great experience and I recommend Salem and Eye of the Tiger to all of my friends.

Tattoo artist Portrait work Skilled

Marco Casado is the only tattoo artist I will allow do any work on me. He knows his stuff inside and out and does the best portrait work I've ever seen. Go in to the shop and look at his book to see what I mean.

Unfortunately, this shop does not take COVID precautions seriously and therefore is not a safe place to get tattooed. This horrible comment was posted by artist Salem, comparing needing a negative covid test before an appointment to segregation, which is clearly extremely offensive. They have posted this comment on as many Instagram posts as they can, advertising how anti-science they are and how little they care about their clients. Please keep yourself and your family and stay away from this shop!
