Jake is an amazing tattoo artist. I drive from San Francisco to SLO just to get tatted by him. He’s friendly, down to earth, and incredibly talented.
The first tattoo he did on me many years ago still looks amazing. People always say it looks like it’s “glowing” Jake is very detailed oriented and it shows in his work.
The shop is very clean, spacious, and easy parking in the back.

Jacob is amazing!!! He is super easy to work with and is extremely talented. He has great technique, super clean line work and really smooth shading. My wife and I both got work done and he came up with amazing designs for both of us with pretty minimal input. They were both quite different styles and he did great with both. His equipment is state of the art and it was all around a great experience. I can't say enough great things about it.

Great experience! Jake does amazing work. Super clean line work with really nice saturation. Great music too! Overall really nice vibe, great conversation and most importantly, walked away with some beautiful artwork. Definitely recommend Apothecary tattoo!

Jake does amazing work. He did a Calvin and Hobbes piece on my forearm, and a partial half-sleeve on my partner, which he also did the original artwork for. We're extremely pleased with our ink, and already have plans to go back and get more tattoos from Jake.
He's super laid back, yet very professional, and his art skills are just beyond great. The shop is clean and inviting, and he usually has some awesome movie playing (like Pick of Destiny or The Watch).
Great place to go! Can't recommend this shop highly enough!

It took a bit of bath and forth to get an appointment in the first place but when I did get there everything was perfect. Chavez is super friendly and explains everything as he’s doing it. He gave me time to ask any questions I wanted to. He had me take a few deep breaths as he did my piercing and it was over in no time. His price included an aftercare solution and a 4-6 week check up to change my jewelry if need be. Everyone in the shop was really friendly and it felt super covid safe too. If I’m ever going to get another piercing, I’d definitely be back here. Thanks Chavez!

Literally wont or cant do hand tattoos bevause "they fade fast". What kind of weak tattoo shop is this?!?!? I know what Im signing up for. I even acknowledged it. Yet they still wouldn't do it because of how fast it fades. They should be embarrassed to call themselves a tattoo shop.

I just happened to run across this shop and decided to go ahead and get my long time wanted tattoo "Smile Now Cry Later" brought to life by one of the dope artists they had there that day, one of my best choices! I'd shout out to the artist but Ishamefully admit I truly do not remember but I do remember the experience, professional, clean and Top shelf work!

The walls aren't coated in cheezy flash . . . these guys specialize in thoughtful, well-designed custom tattoo work. They're true artists that take pride in their work, and you'll take pride everyday in the art you carry with you from this shop. i have got 9 tattoos from here and at least one from everyone who works there. i have always had a great experience and always walked out with a great tattoo i was 100% happy with. from their fundraisers to help the community to the amazing work they do, i recommend apothecary to everyone and plan on going back in the future.
