Carlos!!! my favorite guy he’s given me 13 tattoos and i love them all!! so kind, so funny & such a wonderful tattooing environment. if i recommend any artist in boulder (as someone with a bunch of tattoos) it’s 100% him!!

He's a very nice Person. But I do have to give 3 stars because I told him I did not have cash and that I had credit. Knowing this he scheduled an appointment with me. Therefore I thought I had a great tattoo artist. However, At the end of our meeting he tells me it's gonna be a $150 deposit and he wanted cash. I told him before I came I did not have cash I had credit. Maybe he'll learn from this experience and not tell possible clients to come even when they don't have cash. So I found another tattoo artist that did a great job for me and they took my credit. So sorry you lost out on $600.

Carlos has done two tattoos for me, and they're both exactly what I wanted. The first was lilacs, based on a picture of the last lilacs from my grandmother's property, which was also a cover-up of another tattoo. We worked together extensively beforehand to make sure he knew exactly what I wanted. He understood the emotional nature of the tattoo, and since I knew he was best Boulder artist at tattooing flora, I waited for him.

The second tattoo he did for me is an Italian phrase, written in my other grandmother's handwriting, on my inner wrist. He used my grandmother's old recipes to copy her handwriting, and it turned out exactly the way I wanted.

Carlos and I plan to do more work, including a touch-up/reworking of a wave tattoo on my back. I wouldn't go to any other artist.

Carlos is a true artist. I came to him with a partial idea but nothing exact, and he worked with me extensively to find the perfect tattoo which is absolutely stunning. It was a meaningful tattoo to me about a very rare disorder, and when I came back for my official appointment he'd done research on it and really cared. An amazing experience - perfect tattoo and great service.

I love working with Carlos. He's a such a kind soul and puts so much time and effort into his craft. He looks after his customers. When I came in with my friend for a tattoo he made sure that we were all comfortable with the design and placement we had mind. He patiently worked with us and had many laughs. It was a very fun and cool atmosphere. After the tattooing process he went through the aftercare process very thoroughly which I appreciated a lot. I would highly recommend his place for tattoos and will be coming back very soon.

I had an awesome experience with Carlos! He came highly recommended by a friend so I decided to check him out. The shop was super clean and it’s clear that he has 20+ years of experience. I was very impressed with the design he created for my tattoo, it was exactly what I envisioned. The lines are so clean! I’ve had so many compliments and more importantly he helped me visually depict my experience living in Boulder for the past year. I highly recommend checking him out! I know I’ll be flying back from Canada to see him the next time I get any tattoo work done.

I've been getting tattooed by Carlos for 4-5 years from little to large scale work. His 20 years of experience shines through every time I come in. His work is always super clean, sharp, and solid. He's really personable, friendly, and kind. Which I think is important since, as the client, we're getting the raw end of the deal.

His new PRIVATE shop is absolutely perfect. Quiet and quaint, you really get the sense that his main focus is on you. When anyone asks about my tattoos I only ever recommend Carlos because he is very meticulous with his work.

Carlos has given me one the best tattoo experiences here in Colorado. His precise line work as well as a nice 1 on 1 situation where he keeps you entertained throughout the whole procedure! I’ve already been here twice and already am thinking about my next visit!

My friend and I were wanting to get a tattoo to commemorate our trip to Colorado. Carlos worked with us on our designs to ensure we got what we wanted. He was very personal, and payed close attention to detail and made sure we were happy with the design before he started tattooing. His work space was very clean and he had face masks for he and us to ensure safety for both parties during the “toilet paper apocalypse”.My friend and I were very satisfied with his work and he made us feel comfortable and at ease during the process. I would highly recommend getting your ink done at Modern Classic.

Carlos was amazing to work with! My friend and I were vacationing in Colorado and decided to end the vacation with a bang by getting tattoos together. I had a design that I had commissioned years ago that I wanted done. I called Carlos up and he was very friendly and professional during the entire process. We were even provided masks to wear during the Toilet Paper-ocalypse of 2020. 😉 He took measures to make us feel comfortable and at home, and his work is phenomenal. I would love to be tattooed by him in the future!
