Alan's Cool Ink

I walked into this shop for a rook piercing while I was vacationing in Destin on the day I was driving back home with friends, so that my new piercing wouldn’t be affected by the beach or anything like that. I have several other body piercings from different shops around my area and this experience was unlike any other I have had before when getting pierced and NOT in a good way. The staff was all very friendly but the level of professionality was lacking. I was not asked what type of jewelry I wanted, but assumed that the woman who was piercing me knew best since she supposedly had done this many times before. I was not marked for the piercing and she did not warn, count down, or anything before she shoved the needle in my ear. I know piercings do not feel pleasant as it is a needle going through your skin, but she was being very jagged and harsh with her movement of the needle through the thick cartilage and I feel like it could have been done a lot more smoothly. Shortly after I had left the shop and given her a decent tip, I realized that the material that I was pierced with was cheap plastic which is not safe or sanitary for new piercings and can easily lead to infection. The next day when I was back at home, I went to my local piercer and she was shocked at how poorly done this piercing was. The placement was incorrect, the wrong jewelry was used (not because of the cheap quality, but because it was a straight barbell, not even curved which is standard for rook piercings), and she told me that she would save the piercing for me if she could, but my best bet was to take it out and let it heal because it was ultimately too screwed up for her to do anything to help me other than that. Do not go here for piercings unless you want to waste your money or wind up with a terrible infection.

Friendly staff and very professional. Everyone made me feel comfortable and welcome. Great place to go if you want small very detailed tattoos, or a bigger tattoo.

I work at Alan's Cool Ink. As an employee of the shop I have to say, I have never worked at a better shop! I am constantly excited to be at work. The shop is upbeat, clean and open, I have worked at other places that were dark and uninviting to the customers. If your nervous about going in to a tattoo shop, you don't have to be at Alan's. As a result of such an inviting atmosphere I get to have clients from all walks of life which has improved the quality and variety of tattoos that I get to do on a daily basis. The other staff and artists that work here are mostly from England and Germany, which makes things fun because I love their roudy loud excited mentality. It's fun to be around :) I can't say enough good about my work but I can sum it up like this, I've never felt like I was at work for one single day, while working at Alan's Cool Ink! Drove down from MN for vacation and to get inked by Freddie. As always, amazed by his work! First time going to Alan's Cool Ink and that did not disappoint either! Awesome atmosphere with super friendly staff! Family oriented and fun. Would definitely recommend checking them out! We even purchased a Vape! Only had 2 cigarettes since them!

A couple of friends and I stayed in Destin for a short vacation and decided last minute we wanted to all get tattoos before we went back to Wisconsin. Looked up the nearest place, read the reviews and decided we would give it a try. Everyone as soon as we walked in were super friendly and made the experience very enjoyable. Was not given a name to the guy who did all of our tattoos, but he was great to work with and talk to and we ended up LOVING our spontaneous tattoos. Definitely recommend!

I got my first tattoo here. Robert was our artist and he totally knocked it out of the park. VERY happy with the entire experience. Clean, friendly and fair price. (Shop minimum is $60) I recommend getting there when they first open or make an appt.

Andrew and his mother were very welcoming when we came in. It was so clean! My tattoo looks great! I highly recommend this place.

I had amazing experience today. Everyone was super friendly! I got a couple of piercings, and the jewelry that they use is very great for all body types. The store is extremely clean, eye catching, and definitely has a lot to offer. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone and everyone.
