Kristyn did my tattoo and I loved it! She worked with very well so I got exactly what I wanted.

Actually pretty upset. My amazing tattoo now looks way worse than before and all I needed was some color work and a bit of filler! Missed areas that were obviously supposed to be filled in with color. Already had a bit of color in the piece and used a different shade of that color instead of something more similar to original color. Totally failed on the filler work by doing some lazy lines just at the bottom that didn't even remotely fill in space. Had little to no communication with him beforehand, he barely even remembered what I wanted when I walked in for my appointment... Serious warning to people looking to go here. A tattoo is permanent! Don't let these guys lazy business practices ruin your tattoo!

I love this shop. The tattooers at Death or Glory have a true respect for their craft. Every time I've been in they've treated me like family. They take the time to sit down and really hash out my ideas. As far as I'm concerned they are the only shop in town. Don't waste your time looking elsewhere. True professionals.

As a client of Death Or Glory and someone who appreciates the history of tattooing. I want to respond to the 2 people claiming that the shop doesn’t talk money upfront and communication is an issue.
First, before potential clients even get into the booth of an artist at Death or Glory. Pricing is always discussed and agreed upon. Tattooing isn’t charged by the time. You’re not renting space when you get a tattoo.
So like your famous quote, “ do your homework.”

Second, you’re writing a review saying you like the work and you’ve always liked the work you received at Death or Glory but you’re mad because you tried to haggle about the price and didn’t get what you wanted?
- You made the choice to change artists.
- You made the choice to go get a drink and sit on your phone the whole time you were getting tattooed.
- You made the choice to come in dropping names as if that means you were supposed to get a discount.
- You then made the choice to watch as the artist who stepped up to help you out as a walk in!! Setup their own station after drawing your tattoos up and since money seems to be so important to you. When the first tattoo was done, you didn’t ask about price. You FaceTimed friends to talk about your tattoo which itself is disrespectful to do in any shop. Again to use your quote, “ Do your homework.” Go to Ink Smith and Rogers in Jacksonville and FaceTime on your phone. See what’s said to you.
- You made the choice to get tattooed on your ribs. One of the most sensitive areas to get work done.
- You made the choice to go to a bar before hand for “ Happy Hour”. Arcade Bar is where you went? Well your claim you went for Happy Hour is false because Happy Hour is from 5PM-7PM on Saturdays. I was at Death or Glory from 3:30PM to 8:30PM and didn’t see you two during that time. Also as a former employee for a numbers of bars in Gainesville. No one just has one drink.
- You’re saying you wanted to pay $75 for each tattoo and the artist came down from $100 each to $90 each.
You didn’t make a down payment and probably didn’t leave a tip. You stated how you were okay with paying $140 for a previous tattoo and now you’re mad cause you were charged $180 for 2 tattoos. Hmmm.
You also stated how in your opinion you should’ve only been charged $75 each which would’ve been $150.
So you come and write a negative review because of a difference of $30.
- You then made the choice to personally text employees of Death or Glory making rude statements but of course you left that out of your review.

The artists at Death or Glory are some of the best all around people and treat every client with the upmost respect. I have had family members, friends and coworkers all get tattooed by these artists and they’re the only ones I’ll ever refer too. Mike, Rob, Anna, Nick, Enrique, Jesus, Kristyn and Jason are some of the best people. Let alone tattoo artists you’ll ever meet.
Know the truth and experience it for yourself. I’m proud to say I get tattooed at Death or Glory and I always will be.

Reviews and comment sections have given keyboard warriors a platform to speak their mind and say things that aren’t true. Instead of being respectful and thanking the artist who helped you out. You’re making false claims and sending texts because you were asked to not come back and that’s what this is all about. A man would’ve come back the next day and apologized for being rude and haggling with the artist. You wanna talk respect? Again I quote you, “ do you’re homework.”

Probably the best tattoo parlor in town. Professional, clean, beautiful work. They do custom pieces. I recommend them to literally anyone looking for any tattoo ever. Their store minimum is 60$.

I got my first tattoos here, and Katie was wonderful! I love the way she suggested and created the design and then cheerfully chatted all the while she worked. Go for your tattoos here. You will not regret it.

Death or Glory is the best tattoo shop in Gainesville! The environment is extremely welcoming and the artists yield amazing work. I go to Katie Ryan for most of my tattoos and she is a wonderful artist. I get compliments on my tattoos from her and will recommend this shop 100 times over.

I had an awesome experience here, I don’t usually write reviews but this place and the artist I used were so good I felt the need to do it. I saw Rob for my first ever tattoo and he was so friendly and comforting that it went like a breeze!

Got my first tattoo here with Jesus a week ago. He was wonderful and totally calmed my nerves as I went alone. My semi colon looks wonderful and has been healing great. Going back in today for another one!
