Florida Velvet Tattoo

My wife and I both had our first tattoos done yesterday and we had a great experience. Everyone in the shop was great, and our artist Will was very patient and made us very comfortable during the whole process. Both pieces came out flawlessly. We will definitely be back and could not recommend them enough.

Got my first four tattoos here by Evan English and he made it a super fun and memorable experience!!! Will definitely be getting tattooed by him next time I’m in town and the rest of my life lol! THANK YOU!!

I wanted to get a pretty iconic small piece done so I read some reviews and decided to give Florida Velvet Tattoo a shot and MAN, they were amazing. All around - the atmosphere was great, clean studio, friendly artists, GREAT prices; just an overall excellent experience. I had Gavin and he was great at working with me to make sure that the size and placement was perfect. Definitely check them out! You won't be disappointed. I'll be going back for more work!

Marc did an amazing job. I'm very pleased and he was very patient with all the complaining I was doing. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

My daughter got her first tattoo here to honor the passing of her great grandmother and cousin. A hummingbird, butterfly and flowers. Gavin recommended changing the flowers...and it made such an amazing difference!!!! Wow! So beautiful! Thank you so much Gavin for making my daughters first tattoo such an amazing experience.

This is a great tattoo studio did a walk in today with Kenny and he was amazing! I highly recommend coming here this was not my first time and it’ll definitely not be my last! hope to come back real soon! Very clean, and always very welcoming as soon as you walk in!

Evan did my tattoo and he is absolutely amazing!! He was so nice and professional and helped me figure out exactly what I wanted. He was very creative and I would recommend him for any tattoo you want to get!! :)

Scheduled an appt with an Artist a month in advance. Paid deposit for time allotted. Upon arriving to the shop, the artist I’ve already scheduled with was tattooing another client during the time I already put down a deposit for. This in my opinion was extremely unprofessional. I drove from Georgia and was looking forward to working with that artist but the lack of professionalism was outrageous to me so I simply left. A simple phone call or text to know that he needed to adjust our scheduled time would have been greatly appreciated instead of me having to drive 3 hours to watch the artist tattoo someone else during the time I paid the artist for. 10 out 10 would not recommend until that unprofessionalism is addressed.

As everyone who can read reviews can see, you would simply try to rebuttal instead of admitting a lack of profession on your part. As an artist you should have scheduled your time in a much better process. A simple email or phone call would have sufficed and I would have patiently waited. INSTEAD, you don’t say anything until I arrive at the shop. If I pay you for a service and you allocate me that time, the only thing you should be doing that time is working on my tattoo. I’ve never been to a tattoo shop with an artist who had me wait during the time I already paid for because they were working on another client. It’s all about professionalism and you did not have that with me. You would rather have me wait for a service I already paid for instead of making sure that I was taken care of. If you don’t see the lack of professionalism in that then I don’t know what else to tell you.

As stated in the previous paragraphs, you did not correctly allocate your time. If you were still tattooing another client, your next scheduled client should know before their appointment. If I pay you to start my tattoo at noon and your still tattooing another client, simple communication on your part would have resolved this entire issue. No one has asked you to rush anything. As stated before- all you had to do was pick up the phone and notify me that you were still working on another client-problem solved. The ignorance of you to suggest I rush you or your work is beyond me.

Mark did my tattoo recently. I was nervous but he was mad cool. Plus he got skills.

My favorite shop that I’ve ever been to! The staff is all extremely professional and good at holding conversation and they all make it very enjoyable to be there. I go to Kenny for my tattoos and my roommate goes to Marc, all of the artists are super talented. The shop is very clean and up to date and I would recommend this shop before any other shop in Jacksonville :)
