I went to James with a poorly executed tattoo that I had gotten while traveling abroad. I did not want to cover it up as it had genuine sentimental value but it was a real eyesore. James created a custom design working around the original. His artistry is amazing. I went in for my appt not knowing what to expect and came out with a graceful beautiful rework that compliments the spirit of the original . James is professional and meticulous and I couldn't be more happy. Also, the studio is curated with gorgeous antique furnishings and cool art. A great experience all around.

James was fantastic! He took my references and drew up something better than I could imagined. He took the time to make sure I was comfortable and happy with the design. He also spent time explaining all of the after care which was great because I had never had saniderm used before. Overall wonderful experience and I would return if I make it back to Savannah!

Stranded Tattoo is not your typical every day tattoo shop, I have had several tattoo sessions with James and have been tattooed by several other people in the past, James by far is the best tattoo artist in the Savannah area when it comes to custom tattoos. His attention to detail and wealth of knowledge in his field is mind blowing. The shop atmosphere and artistic design is awesome and increases the entire tattoo experience. The shop from what I understand is a custom only shop, so no flash art all over the walls. I personally feel that that is awesome, who wants the exact same tattoo that someone else has anyway. James will plan and design your custom tattoo, it will be an awesome piece of art that you will enjoy for the rest of your life. The friendliness of James and his ability to connect is also nice. James excels in traditional, Japanese, realism , new age, to tattoo coverups. Just an all around great experience with a top notch tattoo artist.

Absolutely wonderful! My entire experience here was great and I would recommend anyone to visit here for their tattoo. It was very clean and everything was well organized. James did a very great job of informing of how the tattoo process would go. He did great by telling me the proper steps for taking care of my first tattoo. Moreover, he is very thorough and extremely knowledgeable about his work. Come here especially if you’re receiving your first tattoo. The business has a comfortable environment that makes you happy that you choose the right place! I plan to go back for more tattoos in the future!

James is an amazing tattoo artist! He is doing my cover up tattoo that more than a dozen tattoo shops didn’t want to touch because of the intricacies involved. He is a true professional and I hardly ever write reviews unless the work is truly remarkable! I will be back for more work in the future.

I would recommend James. I had talked about getting a tattoo with my wife when we were in Savannah and had a picture of an idea. James free handed a better interpretation. The way he talked about tattooing and techniques made it clear it was a passion of his and I was relaxed. My wife backed out of getting one, but he never pressured her and was very patient. We loved the experience so much we put additional money down as a deposit on a return. Best tattoo experience yet.

James has been my artist ever since I came back to the states. He's still my artist even though I moved 5 hours away. I've been tattooed in many different states and have seen artists from all over the world and above all he's the best. Give him and idea and creative freedom and you'll end up with artwork that's completely custom and you're happy with.

James Lemons is a fantastic artist. I spent 17 hours, over a few months, under his needle getting my head tattooed. He was incredible throughout the entire process. Professional, easy to work with when discussing ideas and a generally awesome human. I hope to get more work done by him (and his apprentice Kenny Ward) whenever I return to Savannah.

The shop is impeccable. Thoughtfully decorated, clean, well-lit and in an awesome location. If you're considering getting any tattoo work done while in Savannah, you need to stop by Stranded. Highly recommended.

I lived in Savannah briefly and in my time there I got a tattoo I've been waiting years to get.

Kenny took my idea and the original sketch blew me away. He knew exactly the style I was going for and elevated it with great bold lines and gorgeous color. It's something very meaningful to me and he was very enthusiastic about doing the work. I can't properly express how stoked I was after it was all said and done. I've got five tattoos, and this is not only my favorite but it's also the one I get the most compliments on. If I'm ever in town again, I'll be sure to pay another visit. I can't recommend this place enough. Professional through and through.

Came in on a Saturday afternoon as a walk in! I just needed 4 numbers on my hand. He got me in within an hour!! The two dude's there were very friendly and definitely funny! The place is awesome and decorated very cool. Very good artist's I would recommend to anyone! I will be back!
