Sacred Art Tattoo Waikiki

Great place from start to finish! From booking the appointment to the finished product. Everyone is so nice. My tattoo artist was Dustin. He offered me variations of what I wanted and I decided to go with his artistic flare. This is my first tattoo and I love it!! And it’s hard for me to trust anyone because I’m such a perfectionist, but I could tell with Dustin he pays attention to detail. My husband loved Josh (super nice and personable) and loved his work. Julian did a great job and his work was clean. All around great spot. For sure will be visiting them again when we come back to the island!!

Fantastic! I went here for my first tattoo after a friend recommended them. The place was clean, had a relaxing vibe and the guys there were super friendly. I worked with Julian for my tattoo he definitely knows his stuff and made my experience super chill. They have tons and tons of drawings to base your tattoo off of or get ideas but still make it personal to you. I will definitely be going back.

We went to a Aloha Tattoo Waikiki and got a very unprofessional tattoo… So my wife then proceeded to go to get it fixed at Sacred Art tattoo by Julian, and he completely brought the tattoo back to life. We can thank him enough and are very grateful he could fix the tattoo for her!! The vibe in this place was amazing and everybody was so helpful and friendly compared to Aloha tattoo in Waikiki. We will definitely be back to see Julian!!!

Happy with my tattoo and experience. I am heavily tattooed and have been to many shops with varying levels of friendliness and professionalism. Those were some of the nicest guys I’ve hung around. Dustin was chill and very talented, worked with me on a price we could agree on, and another guy gave us some travel tips for our future stay on the big island. I liked that other artists would chime in on what we being tattooed, like they were looking out for each other to produce the best possible work. I’d recommend this place if you’re looking for an easy going environment and solid, consistent work.

Dustin is a great artist and an amicable, cool guy! I explained that this was my first tattoo and showed an example of what I wanted.

1) I like that he showed me his other examples with similar styles, gave me his honest input, and incorporated my personalization into his preliminary sketch.

2) He printed out the sketch to give me size and placement options. He walked me through the steps so there were no surprises and asked how I was doing throughout the process.

3) He knows how to choose great pigment.

4) His blending is phenomenal.

5) He has a gift for tattooing turtles, which is evidenced by the sketches he has compiled into his book.

1) Quick response time:
My fiancé received responses within hours regarding our tattoos, styles, and availability. We booked an appointment on the same day. Walk-ins welcome.

2) Laid back atmosphere. Friendly and professional staff.

3) Shop is clean and has a designated division for those who are waiting and those who are getting tattooed.

4) Artists wipe down and disinfect their work areas between customers.

5) Recommended by others:
Spoke to another customer who mentioned that several people have recommended this shop. Both she and her husband were getting ink done.

6) People walking in were acknowledged right away even when the artists were in the middle of tattooing someone.

Bonus: Chili (like the pepper) is their friendly mascot who likes to come say hi to customers. :)

If you're ever in Waikiki, this is the shop to get ink!

Nate Rose did my tattoo. He really put in the work to perfect the design with me and did an excellent job bringing it to life! I came in nervous but left with a gorgeous piece that I absolutely love. 10/10!

The shop: has a comfortable, welcoming vibe. Pro-tip: either 1) walk to the shop or 2) find parking a block or so away from the shop well in advance of your appointment to avoid scrambling.

The artist: great experience overall with Dustin on my custom piece! My tattoo is incredibly detailed with color blending, gradients, and no lines.

The process: I sent a few photo examples before my appointment to provide an idea, but explained the concept to him in person while picking and choosing different aspects of each example. This is my first tattoo with color. The size, detail, and placement were great concerns for me. I struggle with perfectionism in my creativity, so I had many thoughts and ideas to share with Dustin. He sketched the idea, presented it to me, and listened to more feedback. I appreciated the perspective he gave me in return, because it really put me at ease to trust him through the process. He was really attentive through the two-hour ink session and chatted along the way.

Dustin is the definition of an artist and a true professional. I would trust him with another tattoo if I visit O'ahu again. Check out his portfolio, he'll deliver!

Julian was amazing! I came in with an idea and even though in Waikiki, the sea turtle is a popular tattoo, I feel I came out with something original. Thank you for keeping me entertained and professional all at the same time

Let me just say this.... everyone here at Sacred Art is the real deal! I was tatted by Shawn, but everyone was welcoming, nice, and knowledgeable. Shawn did an amazing job, and took his time customizing my piece. I wish I could've tipped more because he certainly deserved every dollar! Thank you, Shawn! Hawaii is lucky to have you! I hope more people choose everyone here at Sacred Art than anywhere else they think they might go. Don't waste your time, and just go to Sacred Art!

Got tattooed by Dustin and he did an amazing job! Very chill guy and made me feel comfortable. Very gentle touch and felt very little pain. The whole shop has a great atmosphere and some stellar art. Definitely check out Sacred Art, they're the best shop in Hawaii!
