"Tattoo reviews here only please. The Collective is a unique enterprise designed to enable people to “check out and chill out”. We have award-winning tattoo artists (Tattoo) @thecollectivekailua. Open 7 days 10:00am - till finish (portfolios linked on our website and instagram). The adjacent Café is transitioning during June 2023 and will soft open July 1st. Tattoo shop phone 808-230-8832. The gallery art is rotated giving artists a modest space to hang their works. We also have live music on Sundays next to our exterior mural. I’ve known Josh years and he has the best vibe in a shop like this. Finally got tattooed by him and I couldn’t be happier with both tattoos. He takes his time to make sure it’s what you want and where and his work is of course, amazing. Met the owner Lisa and she was such a sweetheart! I can’t wait to get back there for more! Love the café area as well, super chill and sick style. Just what Kailua has been needing.

I love the ambiance of this place! While they're drawing up your tattoo and getting everything ready, you can wait in the cafe (which has a really chill, edgy vibe). I went in for a consultation yesterday, but since the tattoos I wanted were small (about 1 inch and 2 inches), they were able to go ahead and do them so that I didn't have to make another appointment.
I hesitate to say that the tattoo artist did mine quickly, because that sounds rushed... which it definitely wasn't. But she did exactly what I wanted and it didn't take very long at all. The place was really clean and they had old school hip hop playing, which just added to the awesomeness.
These weren't my first tattoos, but I've never felt like "oooh, I can't wait to get more!"... until now. I've spent the morning trying to figure out what I'm going to get next! And this will definitely be where I go!!

Carly did an awesome job with my honu tattoo! She was fast, personable, and professional. Light touch and she was very calming throughout. They shop welcomed us as walk-ins. Would definitely come back if I'm ever in Hawaii again

Just got my ink done from Alex. What an AMAZING person he is. He is an honest and very accommodating when it comes to getting tattooed. He is very patient and super out going. He’s always making sure that your comfortable and the whole entire shop is IMMACULATE 🤙🏽‼️ Also the cafe is really nice. Super good coffee and nice sandwiches as well as yogurt parfaits and other cool pastries. This is a family owned business, and today they made me feel like OHANA. I will be going back in June for sure 🤙🏽🤙🏽

Excellent experience! Alex was awesome and welcoming. The only tattoo spot to go to in the area! Cool cafe attached. Good prices and great artists with no pressure, or feeling of being rushed. You won’t be disappointed

I’ve been getting tattooed by Lisa for about 13 years. She’s done four pieces for me, one re-line on an old old tattoo and one re-work/cover (posted). She’s absolutely amazing. She is easy to work with and always knows exactly what I’m describing when I tell her what my idea is - and then she just blows that idea up into a unique work of art more perfect than I could have ever thought up on my own. She is incredibly skilled in many different tattoo styles and mixes up the most amazing colors! In addition to being an insanely talented tattoo artist, she just has the most mellow, easy going vibe. Getting tattooed by Lisa feels like hanging with a friend - none of that intense-machismo-angry-hardcore energy that so many shops have. I can’t recommend Lisa enough - she’s the best!!

I really enjoyed my time at the collective. There's a very hospitable environment in the studio with a makeshift cafe in the front of the house. Trevor is a very personable artist and takes his time with precision , and commitment . I will definitely be coming back to Kailua for more art in the future .

Popped into the Collective earlier today with my girlfriend and her family while we're here on vacation and I must say, "WHAT AN ATMOSPHERE!!!" It was really cool to see everyone at work tattooing and microblading. Coffee was great and the staff was super friendly! Definitely see a round 2 in the future!

I researched tattoo spots on Oahu for awhile and I came across The Collective, finally! My tattoo was small and it turned out perfect. I was serenaded to some sweet 90’s Alternative by Josh as he did my tattoo. I couldn’t have asked for a better experience! Highly suggest everyone to check them out.
