"Tattoo reviews here only please. The Collective is a unique enterprise designed to enable people to “check out and chill out”. We have award-winning tattoo artists (Tattoo) @thecollectivekailua. Open 7 days 10:00am - till finish (portfolios linked on our website and instagram). The adjacent Café is transitioning during June 2023 and will soft open July 1st. Tattoo shop phone 808-230-8832. The gallery art is rotated giving artists a modest space to hang their works. We also have live music on Sundays next to our exterior mural. My husband had an appointment and I thought maybe they could fit me in. Alex said he could and my hubby and I showed up.
We had an amazing cup of coffee while we sat with Alex and explained our ideas.
After my husband was finished Alex sat down with me and patiently listened as I threw out my ideas, he took my jumbled mix of ideas and drew up the perfect tatoo.
The shop is super clean, has a great atmosphere and the artists in their are all really friendly and super talented
This was my second tatoo and I will not hesitate to go back for more
We grabbed a bunch of cards to hand out to friends

I sent an email through their website to check on availability, the shop was very responsive and gave me the info of Alex Gama. They felt he was the perfect fit for the type of tatoo I wanted.
Alex was very quick to get back to me and after a quick discussion of what I wanted I booked an appointment for the following Saturday.
Upon arrival the shop was very clean, great vibe, and killer coffe to boot. we chatted for a bit as he drew out what I wanted.
I was so impressed with His work, great guy very personable and top notch artists.
This wasnt my 1st tatoo but it was my first forearm sleve and I am so impressed and happy with how it all turned out.
If you want an amazing atmosphere, a great vibe/experience a super high quality tatoo and a great value

Lisa worked on a wrist cover up for me. I had a very dark peony that I was not happy with from another artist. Initially I had a consult where the artist said we could throw a whole bunch of color and make the flower more realistic ... so I thought...well lesson learned with the first one ..is to really get something meaningful and something you want that is thought out thoroughly. So I opted to just get laser treatment to remove it or even lighten it to get more options w a cover up. After hearing my stories, Lisa was very open minded and listened to what my concerns were. She knew I wanted it very soft and feminine. I know now that what is in my mind may not be what is translated in her mind... I put trust in her and she in turn took her time and made sure color choices worked with the existing space and ink from the remnants of the old tattoo and an existing smaller tattoo and incorporated them together so that the tattoo was more cohesive and flowed better. I loved that she took the time for me to look at it before proceeding to the next part and we talked about it beforehand and she made me feel comfortable and that my opinion mattered. In the end with the pain from laser removal and Lisa’s talent and expertise I can now look at my wrist with admiration and pride with my husband and daughters birth flower reminding me how life is fragile but also can be beautiful if we remember to stop and live in the moment. Thank you for that Lisa! 💞💞💞

Had a great time visiting The Collective Tattoo, Cafe & Gallery for a tattoo while on Oahu. Lisa was great and everyone was super fun to hang with while she worked. The food was tasty too!
