Highly recommend getting tattooed by Zachary Adams!! I have gotten three tattoos done by him already and each one is better than the next. His skill and technique produces a solid tattoo that heals well and is meant to last. He’s easy to communicate with and will work with your vision for your tattoo.

My friend went to this shop on vacation after calling ahead to check to see if walk-ins were accepted. After confirming that she and her girlfriend could walk-in and did not require an appointment, they went to the shop and were never even greeted. At first they thought it was because people seemed busy, but two other women walked in, who were clearly straight and were immediately approached and asked what tattoo they wanted. My friend reminded them that she and her girlfriend were there first and still received no acknowledgement. It quickly became clear to my friend that this shop was not LGBTQ-friendly. It also may have had something to do with the fact that my friend and her girlfriend are clearly people of color and everyone else in the shop was white. Being ignored this way made the whole situation very uncomfortable and they decided to walk out. Still no one acknowledged that they had ever been there at all. Very disappointing service and will not support businesses that clearly are not inviting, accepting, and welcoming to everyone.

Don’t book Jeremy. The line work he did was good but he is inconsistent with pricing and communication. Got an outline done with the intentions of returning for color. I tried to book for the color since I paid in full $350. Now he’s moving and said it would cost me more money. 350 for an outline of a flower seems high.

I got my tattoo from Asa over a year ago and to this day, I still get comments about how amazing the line work and shading are on it. He did a phenomenal job of sketching out the idea I wanted from images provided and it was done so quickly and painlessly (with color!) that when he said “finished,” I assumed it was just the outline. I’ve told multiple people that if I ever want another tattoo, I’ll happily make a special trip back to Lexington for it

The entire Black Rose team is welcoming and will make sure that you’re taken care of. I’ve been going to Asa since before Black Rose existed. He’s always been very easy to work with and runs one of the best shops in Lexington. They care about their work and the quality of the tattoos that come from this shop is impeccable. You should pay them a visit, you won’t be disappointed.

Asa is an incredibly talented, professional, and kind artist. I simply emailed him an idea: "horseshoe with Goldenrods". I got an appointment quickly, it was easy to pay a deposit and he was ready with the perfect design as I walked in. The front desk woman (Shayla?) was sweet, attentive, and friendly. Signing paperwork was a breeze and I was ready with no wait at all.
Asa is unique in that his technique involves customized pigments with deep color that is clearly built to last. His station is exceptionally clean (important to me as a nurse) and he makes great conversation. The placement was in a tender spot but Asa was so quick and efficient that I barely noticed. I was blown away when I saw I had only been in an hour for a full around the elbow piece.
I have many tattoos from many states and artists and I can say without hesitation that this was overall the best, most professional, quickest, and quality tattoo I've ever received. Absolutely recommend. Will return.

I emailed Asa with an idea a few weeks ago and he was very prompt and professional with his response. Walked in to my appointment and it was really a breeze. Was my first tattoo and definitely won’t be my last. Really appreciate the hospitality that Asa and everyone at Black Rose showed. Extremely pleased with my tattoo and couldn’t be happier!
