"Downtown Tattoos & Piercings opened its doors to Frenchmen Street in June of 2012. The shop is owned by Terry Brown, a seasoned artist that has over 20 years of experience tattooing all across the country, along with his lovely wife Hayley Waldner. Besides sharing a passion for tattoo, Terry and Hayley are entrepreneurs at heart, and they jumped at the chance to create the optimal tattoo experience when the corner space on Frenchmen St. became available. In Downtown Tattoos, Hayley and Terry have created an atmosphere that makes one feel as though the shop has been around forever. They are heavily involved with their community, and they love to hold fun events to help them connect with and contribute to the people and causes around them."

Requires a $50 deposit. They offered to give it back after our flight was cancelled but then rescinded the offer.
Thanks for making our bad situation even worse, and not being understanding or flexible.

Billy rocks! I love this place! My husband and I were out of towners and took a gamble based on other reviews. It paid off! Billy understood exactly what we each wanted and had the drawing and tattoos completed in under two hours. This was my 13th tattoos and Billy had the lightest touch. Highly recommended this place! Great service and prices also!

I was so excited to go to the shop as I was on a long road trip with my husband for our anniversary and we were finishing in New Orleans for 2 days so I wanted a tattoo to remember it by. I researched the shop I wanted and the artist - Billy - who I contacted on Instagram because the shop didn’t bother to respond to my online enquiry. Having sent the design we agreed a date and time slot which my husband and I worked our day around, on arrival I said I had an appointment with Billy and was stared at blankly, he then came over and introduced himself and when I said I had messaged him on Instagram he said “yeah a lot of people message me on Instagram” and I said yes but we had agreed a time, you replied? It turned out he had just agreed a walk in and was about to start so I left my number and they said they would call in 30-40 minutes when he finished, they didn’t bother calling me and I saw on his Instagram he did a further 2 walk ins before they closed.
After a month of planning they completely ruined it for me, what was the tattoo for me was clearly just another one for them. I would strongly recommend going anywhere else, they were so rude, arrogant and completely unprofessional, not what you would want to mark you for life!

They do excellent work. By far the best shop in New Orleans. Every artist is extremely talented and knowledgeable. Their prices are very reasonable and the art is well worth twice what they charge for it. If I could rate higher I most definitely would.

Went to downtown tattoo based off friends recommendations and I'm not disappointed ! Jim was amazing - he took my idea if an outline and brought it to the next level . So happy I went there and so happy with Jim's vision of what I wanted!

Came in a couple weeks ago to get a tattoo for my birthday. Shop was very clean and my tattoo artist, Henry Rhodes, was straight up awesome to work with and get a tattoo from! Went in with a flexible idea and left with a beautiful rose tattoo that exceeded my expectations by far!!! Highly recommend the shop and I will definitely return!

I just got done with my first session yesterday with Jim. I had an idea of what I wanted and he turned it into a beautiful piece! My heart is soooo happy and I can't wait to add the color and see the finished piece. Jim is amazing and everyone else there were very chill. Highly recommend coming here.
