"Downtown Tattoos & Piercings opened its doors to Frenchmen Street in June of 2012. The shop is owned by Terry Brown, a seasoned artist that has over 20 years of experience tattooing all across the country, along with his lovely wife Hayley Waldner. Besides sharing a passion for tattoo, Terry and Hayley are entrepreneurs at heart, and they jumped at the chance to create the optimal tattoo experience when the corner space on Frenchmen St. became available. In Downtown Tattoos, Hayley and Terry have created an atmosphere that makes one feel as though the shop has been around forever. They are heavily involved with their community, and they love to hold fun events to help them connect with and contribute to the people and causes around them."

My first tattoo and my experience could not have been better. I was a walk-in so there was a little wait but Jim drew the perfect design for me and the staff was fun and friendly. Great music didn’t hurt either. Definitely recommend!

I talked to 3 other shops before this one, 2 of them tried to talk me out of what I wanted and the other was not wheelchair accessible. Every one at Downtown was so great, sweet and accommodating for my mom. Bree did 2 perfect little nose piercings and Henry gave me the most adorable owl on my knuckle! Definitely recommend this spot!

I showed up out of nowhere with a pretty good idea of what I wanted and Jim drew it up and did the tat in under an 1hr15min. He was also honest and cool. Overall a great experience for my first tattoo!

Very pleased with my experience here! I gave Kevin my “stick figure” drafts and some screenshots of what I wanted. He drew up a design I loved and I’m very happy with it! Also, was able to do a jewelry change for my nose; great selection of Neometal jewelry and the piercer (I’m so sorry I’m forgetting their name!) was friendly and knowledgeable!

I spent around $600 on two ear piercings with jewelry here.
The experience was good, until one piercing swelled horribly a couple months later, and then turned into a what appears to be a keloid scar.
I called them several times as well as emailed as I had no idea what was happening to the piercing and what I needed to do to fix it.
No one ever responded to me.
