Steve Marzza is one of the BEST tattoo artists I've ever met. Not only is his artwork the best in Maine but he happens to be a great dude too. Since my first tattoo from him I have kept an appointment open every few months since he's booked out for over a year!! The other artists in the shop are all top notch so even if you can't book Steve, everyone at the shop is at the top of their game.

Nick is the best piercer I have ever gone to!! Patient, professional, listens to you and makes you feel 100% confident in his knowledge and experience. He was extremely busy and still took his time explaining everything and discussing problems I've had in the past.

Went to Dark Harbor for a Dairth piercing. The wait was a bit long (friday afternoon in August, I should have planned better!) but absolutely worth it! Nick did a spectacular job explaining the process, being reassuring and going over the cleaning/care instructions very thoroughly. The piercing itself was very quick and Efficient! One week later, I love my piercing and healing is going great. I would definitely recommend Dark Harbor and Nick!

I was on vacation in Maine and decided to get my ears re-pierced, so I looked up tattoo shops and found this one had the highest ratings. I got my ears pierced when I was 6 at the mall. 😱 They weren’t straight and I would go years without wearing earrings. One side finally started closing up and it was not straight anyway, so super annoying trying to get an earring through. Piercings are walk-in, so we waited about 30 min until I could be seen. Nick (maybe the only piercer there?) was wonderful. He is very professional and thorough. He takes his job seriously. I’m sure the basic ear lobes piercing is the most boring and basic, but he didn’t treat me like I was lame haha. For several years now, I have recommended parents take their kids to tattoo shops for ear piercings and will continue to do so!

I don't know who would leave a bad review for this facility because EVERYONE here is pleasant and have a great personality. There is no way you would ever have a bad experience. I have had several tattoos done here and nothing but a GREAT experience. Also 3 piercings done here as well. Don't listen to ignorant people that either A: can't handle where they have the tattoo placed or B: don't listen to the artists suggestions :)
