Mos Eisleys Tattoo Studio

Went in to schedule an appointment and give the artist what I wanted to have done. Put down a $100 deposit and was told they'd be in touch. Weeks went by hearing nothing until the night before the appointment when the artist sends me something totally different than what I asked for. Told them I'm not getting that and no longer wanted to work with them and have since been ignored every time I try to get my deposit back. There are a dozen better tattoo shops in Grand Rapids, do not go here.

Ruby is an incredible artist. Always makes it better than I imagine. Always super clean and easy to work with. Bring in ideas and she will make it even better!

I've been going there, and only there, for all tattoos or piercings for over 20 years. Shawn is a great guy and has always kept solid, talented people as company. Kind of like barbers or hair stylists they are genuinely nice and easy to talk to while you're getting work done. In most cases you're going to have to wait a little while for an appointment because the artists there have a lot of clients in queue. All of them are great artists and have varied primary disciplines and styles they enjoy and thus have honed an impressive depth of skill in (check out the artist profiles on their site or stop in and ask about who might be the best artist to work with on your project or piece). As with any freelance artist, respect their time and money, and they will take very, very good care of you.

I’ve had 3 previous tattoos here all with good experiences, but I was canceled on 30 minutes before my appointment by my artist and the date they rescheduled for me didn’t end up working out so I had to call to reschedule. I didn’t leave a message when no one answered my call and I called back again after my appointment time had passed leaving a message. The next day they called me back and told me that they had claimed my deposit and it was considered a no call no show because I didn’t leave a message. I was incredibly disappointed to here this because my artist and the employees there have all been great in the past. It felt like a slap in the face when my initial appointment was canceled last minute, which I was very understanding of, but when I needed to reschedule my calls were completely over looked.

Very disappointed with this place. I heard this was the best tattoo shop in GR. Unfortunately I have to disagree. Back in early August I had a consultation with Shawn. He told me it would take 4 to 6 weeks to draw my tattoo. I thought this was a bit odd, because usually after a consultation, the artist will at least give you an appointment date before you leave. Instead I just get told "4 to 6 weeks".

Well, after a month of no communication from him, I checked in with them in early September and they said he was still drawing it. Okay that's fine, I'll wait a few more weeks. No big deal. I understand the pandemic is going on, maybe they are just busy. I gave them the benefit of the doubt.

October comes and goes, still I hear nothing. Now it's the first week of November. I decide to call them early in the afternoon and ask for an update. I get told Shawn will text me before the day is over. The day ends, still no text from Shawn or anybody who works here. Essentially they've left me hanging for 3 months now.

I've been getting tattooed for nearly 10 years. I've never had to wait this long for an artist to draw a design before, even during COVID. I've never seen such a massive lack of communication between a shop and their clients. I get the feeling they simply forgot about me. Not professional at all. I'm so disappointed. I'll have to go somewhere else now.

Attempted to set up a tattoo appointment using their online contact form. Someone initially contacted
me with questions regarding the tattoo I was looking to get done. I responded to their questions and then they stopped communicating. Sent 3 follow up emails and received no response. What’s the point of having an online contact form if you’re not going to respond to people? Guess I’ll take my business elsewhere.

I’ve been tattooed at so many different shops and Mos Eisley has been one of the best! Nick got me in and out in less than a half hour and made me a tattoo that looks amazing and is a great tribute to my beloved childhood cat!

Reached out and then was ghosted by the staff. Highly unprofessional. Although it worked out I found a great artist at honest to goodness and my tattoo is amazinf.

First off ill start by saying when I first walked in it looked extremely clean and smelled good as well, got a walk-in appointment within 30 minutes and Adam did a better job than I could've even imagined. My initial idea was a bit too detailed to do as a walk in and they were straight up and extremely professional and we set up a consultation for that tattoo but I also had a back up idea that was perfect. Best tattoo studio in west Michigan and even though they are slightly more expensive than your smaller shops but well worth it and make up for it in talent and cleanliness. Save yourself time and don't look for other shops because mos Eisleys will is the best choice.
