We took a girls trip and wound up in Ludington, let's do something crazy! Call a tattoo shop! Hey, do you have openings today for 3 people/small tattoos?
Yes!! Zane fit us in, within 2 hours we were in and out. Super nice guy, fantastic work, we love our tattoos! All the artists were very nice, beware though, they will try to talk you into a cyber panther tattoo😂 great people & great work👌 Thanks again Phoenix Rising!

Me and a group of friends decided to get a tattoo/piercing and phoenix was the place we chose. I know 2 of the workers but that's not y we chose here. We chose here because of knowing the babies/kids could sit inside and 1. Play in waiting area. 2. Watch us get tattoos. First tattoos for most of us and they were great. Let us have a break if needed and and talked to us about cleaning and more while doing their work on us. Thank u Blake and nick for the great work and cal as well for the great place to be up and running still thank you boys.

My experience was really good. Nick did a fantastic job on my tattoo and was super nice to talk to. The only issue I had was I felt like he need to have more gloves. He ran out halfway through the tattoo and this worried me some. I didn't make mention of it at the time due to nerves.

Absolutely love this shop. I have been going to this shop for many years! Everything about this place is great, the atmosphere , the artist and the work is just amazing! From the start I was driving from 2 hrs away to get work done . They have done a majority of my tattoos and my piercings! Deff will be returning for more. If you want work done go to cal and the crew!

All my tattoos expect 1 have been done or touched up at Phoenix Rising Tattoo Studio, along with 2 piercings. My only complaint is the customer service could step it up just a bit. The professionalism, art work, and cleanleness are all 5 stars from me!!
Its been about a year since I wrote the review above...and I can now say I have no complaints...
I just recently had a tattoo done at Phoenix and the service was top notch! The artist made me feel super comfortable. He answered all my question and gave me his honest opinions on size and placement without getting annoyed with my uncertainties. Plus did an amazing job on my tattoo! I would definitely recommend Phoenix RisingTattoo Studio.

I have gone to Phoenix Rising for years now and all of the work I have gotten done is beyond what I could have expected. Some are personal pieces that had brought me to tears. The artists are all amazing at what they do and they make every single person that comes in want to come back again. I am always looking to add to my canvas and I would never think of going anywhere else! They are affordable and clean and courteous. If you go in nervous you wont be for long. They can make just about any person feel relaxed!

I have had Cal do a few different pieces. He is one of the best artists in the state, but he has chosen to make Ludington his home. He cares about his community, his staff, and loves the work he does.
He has done a half leg sleeve for me - the line work and shading are both amazing, and the artwork has stood the test of time.
I would recommend Cal and Phoenix Rising over any other shop in the state - I would prefer to drive home to Ludington to have him do work on me over any of the artists nearby me in Metro Detroit. His work is that good!

I came to the shop with my friends to get piercings one night when I showed the owner Cal a tattoo of a cross I had gotten on my back from someone who had previously worked at Phoenix Rising. Cal immediately saw what I did, which was an uneven tattoo, he then offered to fix it for free. Cal freehanded a floral piece over the cross and made it look so much better than before. I’ve gotten so many compliments on it and from now on I always tell people to go to Phoenix Rising. Not many tattoo artists will take on a tattoo redo right on the spot like Cal did for me and I appreciated so much that night. Thank you Cal!
