The Living Art Studio

The Living Art Studio is hands down the best place to get a tattoo done. Not only do they do insane body art, but their staff is extremely professional but the most chill and relaxed group of people you will ever meet.

From the second I wheeled into their killer studio, I was greeted by smiling staff and I felt welcome. The studio is amazing with all sorts of vintage oddities you won’t find anywhere else. I was offered water and coffee and the staff didn’t hesitate to make sure I was as comfortable as I could be. They even let my wife and extremely loud 16 month old son feel welcome and were able to hang out and watch my session. Tell me what other studio that would be cool with them hanging out in the studio. NONE.

My artist was the owner of the studio and his work is off the charts. I will only get my tattoos done by The Living Art Studio and am proud to be their walking billboard. Thank you to Chris and the entire studio staff for an elite experience.

Got a great memorial tattoo with my grandma's handwriting and a beautiful little feather by Jess! She also fancied up my boring little semicolon flash tattoo with a splash of color for me. She is a wonderful, creative artist and everyone at the shop was super nice! Shop is really nice, clean and has a great view! Check them out!! I will definitely be back! I have lots more skin space to fill in!

A dear friend was in town for a limited time. We have been wanting to get matching best friend tatoos for many years. Due to a scheduling snafu somewhere else, we contact Larry at Living Art. I'm so glad we did...he was very professional, kind, funny and we had the best experience. We have been going back and forth for many years on design ideas. As you can imagine with 4 women, there were many view points and Larry was able to take our ideas and blend them into a perfect design that we all could finally agree on. The studio was gorgeous and extremely clean. And best of all, we LOVE our tatoos. They are simply gorgeous!! Highly recommend Larry and The Living Art Studio!

I appreciated the prompt response to my online inquiry about setting up our appts and then when we followed up with the artist directly, she got back to us right away.

The studio space is clean and eclectic, with views of the lake that are inspiring.
We were pleased with Sydney's attention to detail and her patience as we ensured we were happy with the tattoo design and placement.

Overall, it was an awesome experience!

The owner chris is the most unprofessional business owner I have ever met. Who as a business owner gets on social media and down talks past employees because they took a different opportunity ? Not to mention after several of his artist left his shop because of the hostel work environment that Chris created I went back in and he had several unlicensed people doing tattoos without direct supervision like the Minnesota health department requires.

Absolutely would not recommend this shop to anyone let alone go there again myself !!!

I can't say enough great things about the Living Art Studio! They truly have the most beautiful space in Canal Park with such a positive and upbeat atmosphere. They are the most remarkably talented artists who truly love what they do and collaborate with one another to give you the best experience and outcome. I love how they are obviously like a family.
Chris has blown me away with his CRAZY talent, respect and eye for creating beautiful work which has made me want to keep going back for more ink! I could not name a better place to get a tattoo. A beautiful studio, great atmosphere, very clean, nice and funny staff. I have received two tattoos from Phil and will definitely be coming back for more. Such a professional artist and always have a great time being tattooed by him. I’ve recommended the studio to multiple friends and they all have had amazing experiences. Can’t wait to come back in again!!

I still have 1-2 sessions left before my tattoo is finished, but I don’t really anticipate my review changing.

Living Art is the quintessential perfect tattoo shop. To start, the front desk people are amazing. They are responsive, kind, organized, and go way out of their way to make you feel at home. When you walk in, you’re immediately greeted by both incredible people and an incredible space. Seriously. This place is beautiful, and the views of Lake Superior and Downtown Duluth while you’re getting inked makes it all worth it.

Chris is everything you’d want in an owner. He deeply cares about the customer, is an amazing artist, and takes great care during the entire process. While sitting in the chair, it was nice knowing that everything was clean, sterile, and professional.

As I said above, I still have 1-2 sessions to go. But sometimes early reviews are worth it, especially if a business is blowing expectations out of the water.

Probably the most professional studio I have been to. They offered me coffee, tea, water upon arriving. Very nice touch. This place felt organized-not found in every tattoo studio.

The studio itself is beautiful and was very easy to find-great location. The studio was airy and bright and more importantly very clean.

Jess Paulson did my tats. Jess is super nice, accommodating and I am very happy with my tats-I got exactly what I envisioned. Highly recommend Jess. Will go back if I am ever in Duluth again.
