Live Free Tattoo

This has always been my favorite shop to work at. This is my second time working here and the magic keeps walking through the door. Sure the building is cool and the other artists I have worked around have kept me humble and inspired. But the best thing about this place is the people I meet here. They are genuine people down to get good tattoos. Thank you Independence! Looking forward to seeing many of you in the years to come!

Trevor was amazing! He did a portrait of my dog and i loved it! He is fun to have do my tattoos, a great conversationalist, and an even better artist. He is quality-focused and professional! I will definitely come back to Trevor Roque for my next tattoo!!

That's worked pretty mixed views about this place over the years. My girl and I decided to get our nipples pierced to celebrate my last year in my twenties. We got there 30 minutes before they closed. Tara, who was just awesome, took her time (we left an hour after the shop has officially closed) and did a great job. She was very informative and helped calm some of our nerves. I would ABSOLUTELY RECOMMEND her to anyone looking to get a piercing.

Tara is the best person I have ever met at any tattoo/piercing place. Super professional and down to earth, which is a combination that is treasured and extremely rare. No complications and my Dermal is healing nicely.

Trevor gave me my very first tattoo today - which covered a body imperfection that has sort of bothered me all my life. He was creative and interesting. He made everything feel safe and it didn't hurt much at all. I'm really thankful I met him and I absolutely recommend him.

All the good reviews on here about Tara are 100% true!!! I’m new to the area and didn’t know where to go for a piercing crisis (the ball of my cartilage piercing got stuck and absorbed into my scar tissue and I didn’t notice until it was too late to get it out on my own.) So like a noob, I looked around on Google Maps and read some reviews to see which were the best places in Independence. I noticed that everyone on here spoke so highly of Tara, so that made me want to give her a try!! I had driven by Noland Road Tattoo a few times before and it looks kinda small and janky from the outside, but the inside is great and the people are awesome. I called ahead to see if Tara would accept me as a walk-in because I was freaking out about my ear getting infected, and she accepted me last-minute in the middle of a huge rush. At first, Tara wasn’t sure if she could do much about my situation because my ear was super gnarly and she wanted to maintain her integrity as a professional by not injuring me further, but then she took a closer look and came up with a game plan because she is a freaking badass!!! During the removal process, Tara was so chill and consistently checked in with me to make sure my pain was manageable. She didn’t have to cut me at all and was able to dig the piercing out with her shoehorn tool! She hooked me up with a better piece of jewelry that wouldn’t get stuck this time and was only going to charge me FIVE BUCKS, after she spent nearly half an hour taking care of me!! I said absolutely not and made sure to pay her properly, because she definitely deserved it. If you need anything piercing related, GO TO TARA!!! She is amazing and I plan to go to her from now on. So glad I gave Noland Road Tattoo a chance.
