Bertelsen Art & Tattoo

I’ve been to a couple of tattoo studios and they’re all these dark dungeons and I felt like just another spot in the appointment book. Bertelsen Tattoo was such a breath of fresh air (literally too with all of the plants and big windows). You can tell the second you step into their studio that they do things differently. They shared in my excitement about my new tattoo and I can tell they really enjoy what they do. Kelly gave me advice and modified my sketch and made it look like I better than I ever could have imagined! Everyone in there was so friendly and chill. I drove from Idaho and it is SO worth it. I will never go anywhere else again!

I don't know where to start... they are so awesome here! I went to Kelly with a vague vision for my sentimental piece. She designed something better than I ever could have imagined. Not only is her artwork beautiful, but she understood how emotional and meaningful it was for me and took the time to truly care. I appreciated the process. It made me so comfortable and confident in Kelly. I knew I would be getting exactly what I wanted (actually, better). Really great place; clean and bright and comfortable. Really gifted artists, and genuinely amazing people.

100% would recommend Jake and Kelly to anyone. The shop itself is clean and has a calming atmosphere with all the plants. Jake is my artist and I've received so many compliments on my tattoo. It's super detailed and amazing work. He is meticulous about placement and making sure it flows well with the body and has even drawn some freehand on the skin. I'll have to upload some pictures when it is finished since it's a large piece. There's so many good things to say about Jake and Kelly. I would never go to another shop again.

I spent a long time looking for the right place to get a head tattoo and Bertelsen is the place. Kelly did my tattoo and she did an amazing job! She went into more detail then I could even have imagined, she put to paper the idea I had in my head and she did it flawlessly. I never once felt like just a customer, I felt like I was hanging out with friends getting a tattoo, this was an amazing experience and I couldn't be happier!

I've had nothing but good experiences at Bertelson Art & Tattoo. The entire process of figuring out which artist to go with and the tattoo process itself was well thought out and executed. I really appreciated the artist questionnaires because it made me feel like the artist really cared and wanted to make sure they were the right person for the job. I ended up working with Mickey for a dreamcatcher inspired tattoo and a flower tattoo and she is absolutely wonderful! Amazing artist and a just a cool person overall. She worked with me on what I wanted and even went out of her comfort zone and did a colored tattoo for me and she did an absolutely amazing job. Her lines look amazing and she pays attention to small details. Everyone at Bertelson is so nice though and everyone parades their tattoos to everyone else when they're done. Overall its a great atmosphere, clean shop, and wonderful people. Get a tattoo from Bertelson, you won't be disappointed!!

WOW! Such an amazing experience! I’ve never written a review on a place before but this shop definitely deserves 50 stars. Not only were they able to get us in on relatively short notice, but Kelly was SO wonderful and helpful and accommodating. She was so pleasant and fun and exciting. She cared so much about our happiness and making sure we got the tattoos exactly how we wanted.
She spent so much time getting to know us and by the time we left, I felt we had a new friend.

I had an idea for a memorial piece for my father who had passed but didn’t know how to go about finding the right person to help support my vision. I somehow, magically, stumbled across Jake and Kelly’s studio. I appreciated the process that Jake takes with his clients. It was impactful for me to articulate the importance and meaning of my vision on paper for him. It quickly became clear that Jake tattoos because he has immense investment and connection to his work. This is not his job rather his passion and him and Kelly are artists first, tattooing is their medium of expression. The space they have created is gorgeous; there is a sense of calm and peace. I immediately felt welcome by everyone there and instantly a part of their tribe. There was no question about the sanitation and cleanliness of the space. Jake took his time creating the drawing for me and I felt embodied the spirit of my dad within the art piece. The actual tattooing was filled with wonderful conversations with the Bertelsen family and I feel I left the experience a more mindful individual with a new outlook on how I move through this life. Jake puts intent to every line he puts on the skin. As excited as I was when the tattoo was complete I was sad the experience was done! Guess I will have to go back!

Jake Bertelsen owner of Bertelsen Art and Tattoo Studio is the best artist in the valley. Jake did a full angel and demon sleeve on my left arm and is now doing a zombie leg sleeve. I searched for about 6 months for an artist that could do the work I wanted done and could do an amazing job. Jake has blown me away with his skill and talent. He is an amazing person and he does amazing work. He is always looking for more ways to improve his skills and to become a better artist and person. He loves what he does. Jake and I have become really good friends and he truly cares about his clients and what he puts on them. He takes the time to make sure it is what you want and to make sure it is created to the best of his ability. He is the only artist I trust and the only artist I will go to. If you want quality work and for it to be done right be patient and let Jake do the work he will not disappoint you.

I had an absolutely amazing experience with Jake, His passion and artistic abilities are beyond anything I could have hoped for. I spent so much time searching for the best possible tattoo artist I could find in
Montana or in the Northwest. Jake Bertelsen is the best period! I would recommend him as not only the
best tattoo artist but an even better person. If you have to wait to get a tattoo from Jake it is worth every second you have to wait, he is just that GREAT.

About two years ago I was looking for a place to get my first tattoo, a wedding band for my anniversary. A friend suggested Kelly at Bertelsen, and I’m sooooo glad she did. My first impression was that I’d walked into a fancy hair salon with rad music. Then I got to know the artists and other customers and felt so at home I decided they were the right fit. I loved how much they dug into what I wanted, even asking what my definition of happiness is! I’ve now had three tattoos at Bertelsen, and each one is a work of art far more beautiful than my original vision thanks to their talent and insight. I came to Bertelsen as I could see they were amazing artists, and I keep coming back because they are amazing people. Thank you Kelly and crew! Ink is forever and so are the great times hanging out with you.
