Don't go to Painless Steel (owned by a child molester) when you can go to Altered Skin.

Byron is a great artist! We can from out of state to visit family and we decided to get tattoos. He was very nice and caring about how you wanted your tattoo to be. Couldn't have asked for a better artist for my first tattoo. I would definitely go back again.

The staff was friendly and everything was completely sterile. The art was great and the artists were more than happy to answer any questions from stories about their tattoos, to what colors they use to make certain shades. Everyone seemed to be at ease during the whole process. I definitely will be going back for more art.

Altered Skin is a fabulous and very professional place. Jay fixed a tattoo that I had, and did the best job. I am working on a new tattoo currently, that Jay will be doing.
My husband has a sleeve done by Jay and it came out awesome. He also has another tatt by Dave, which is also great. They are all fabulous artists and very professional and personable.
I also have received a piercing from Brenda and one the other guys, both were great, almost painless and very nice. They have great jewelry and prices. I will never go anywhere else.

I have spent over 15 hours in a chair with Jay and will be spending another 15 more. He is very professional and dedicated to his craft. I gave him an Idea of what I wanted not really sure what he could do with it and he toke this idea and blew it up to a level I could never imagine. I look forward to future sessions. As for the rest the store its clean and welcoming, always some good tunes to listen to while your getting a tattoo. The rest of the staff are all very welcoming and vibe really well together I have yet to hear a bad thing from a RELIABLE source about any of them.

I never judge based on a first visit so I went back for a second. I went to get my piercing changed out. I was told upfront that I would be charged to have this done, since I brought my own jewelry. Fine. She told me she was an intern. So I’m paying for a student to do the job? I had a ring placed and it wasn’t aligned or closed all the way, so as it turns it has ripped my skin and has caused my ear to bleed over and over and I’m now afraid of an ongoing infection. Really disappointed.
