My piercer was AMAZING. Very clean area, station and tools. Very friendly and informative for any 1st timers getting a piercing. My 18yr old was put right to ease. However they lost a star because of the guy at the desk. While he was handling an upset customer well he didn't handle me his in person customer at all! When he got hung up on I said "you can't please everyone". He said "yea" and proceeded to stay on his phone. I had to ask him if I could pay for my piercings.

Alex is a true ARTIST! It’s always a good time at the shop. All the artists make you feel comfortable and welcomed. I have had over a handful of tattoos done by Alex over the years. His work speaks for itself… AMAZING! He has the perfect eye for traditional tattoos with extraordinary line work. I was so impressed on how quick and efficient he was. Best spot in ABQ! Highly recommended for all tattoo pieces.

Take my money!
I've had work done around Albuquerque over the past 13yr and I'm going to be returning here for life. I was drawn in to Por Vida due to their new location, and checking out their work on Insta. Alex (@lilaleh on insta) was able to squeeze me in (both our schedules are crazy busy). I has a design ready to go that needed minor tweaks, and his artistic skill made it truly a great piece. It was extremely affordable, and I truly believe he did the piece in about 1/2 the time most people would be able to.
I think a lot of the 1-star reviews here are from people who can't communicate well, and pass that blame onto the shop. The shop is absolutely huge and they have a shocking range of talent. They're straightforward and easy to work with.

First appointment here went well. Last one this weekend showed up for scheduled time and they were closed. Reached out to artist 2+ hours before appointment and never got a response. Would think the artists know when their regular business hours are. Long drive from Rio Rancho just to be disappointed for mom and daughter first tattoos together. 🙁

Is it normal for the tattoo to look faded after a couple days? Plus this is my first tattoo and they didn't necessarily give me a lot of advice aside from clean it with unscented soap thus 2 stars. Wouldn't get another tattoo from here

I had a sun,a moon and a star on my finger. I lost the most of the moon and the whole star. I didnt want to go back to where i had it done. I ended up at Por Vida. I got my moon back. And a beautiful new set of little stars. My new stars even match the color of some much older star i have. Dude who fixed me up had a super soft hand, knew what he was doing. His lines are super smooth. I cant wait to get a larger piece from him.

I 1000% do NOT recommend this place for a tattoo. I called ahead of time to see if I needed an appointment, I was told I could come in anytime by the manager. I got there at 4 and was immediately placed with an artist, waited for the artist to finish my stencil. I was kicked out of the chair at 5 because he forgot he had an appointment scheduled. I understood and decided to wait due to this being the only day I could get this done. When he was ready to tattoo me he couldn't place the stencil right and I was suggesting different ways but he just argued. A random guy walking by was able to place the stencil the way I wanted immediately. The whole time the artist was trying to convince me to just schedule an appointment and come back another time because he wanted to drink with the guys walking in and out of the room. Finally got the tattoo done a little after 8, he misspelled a word but thank goodness it was an easy fix. Worst experience I've had here. I do recommend getting piercings done by Jay. He's never let me down!
