I have never had a more positive experience getting a tattoo or piercing. Derek immediately made me feel comfortable and proved to be extremely knowledgeable as well as funny. I went to get my nipples pierced, which can be awkward with a piercing artist of the opposite gender. However, Derek was professional and did such a good job that I will not go anywhere else for any of my future piercings. My friend and I both got piercings by Derek a few weeks ago, I went in not even sure if I was going to commit to getting a piercing because I have a sensitivity to certain metals and I am prone to keloids. However, after consulting with Derek and hearing his professional advice I was 100% comfortable with deciding to get the piercing. He is extremely professional and personable. He really cares for his clients and ensuring they have a comfortable experience, making sure to achieve the results they desire. He is very passionate about what he does and provides really high quality piercings. Body piercing is an art form, and if your looking to get a piercing, you want to get it done by someone who really treats it as what it is. My friend and I both had great experiences and are extremely happy about the results!

Love Forever Tattoo and Piercing. First of all, I got an amazing tattoo from Rob several months ago, it turned out perfect, i love the awesome detail, plus it healed up after one week without any redness or swelling at all. I was very impressed with the sterilization process he used and he's a really cool person to talk with, i can't wait to get another tattoo from him soon! Also I was just there a few days ago to get my ears pierced by Derek. He was awesome! Very professional but easy to talk to, he was great about explaining everything as he went through the procedure. I was extremely impressed with how sterile everything was, he even uses an autoclave for all the tools he uses. I couldn't be happier with my experience, tattoo, and piercings at Forever. Very good experiences. Plus it's only been a few days and both my ears are healing great! Neither of my ears even became red or swollen at all, i'm very happy i chose to go with Forever once again, very professional yet approachable, i fully recommend Forever Tattoo and Piercing to everyone. Rob's great to work with. He's tattooed my fiance and I both and did really great work. His skill is damn near unrivalled in the area and he's definitely ranked among the tattoo elites in the country. He's been doing it for 20+ years professionally. And you really get your money's worth too. He gets a lot done relatively quickly compared to some less experienced artists. He tries really hard to make each piece he does special because he knows it's special to his client. He likes doing big pieces on people who can sit for long sessions too. He's doing a back suit for my friend and it looks incredible. He's definitely the person to go to if you want something serious. My fiance and I plan to get more work from him in the near future and I recommend him to anyone who's serious about tattoos. 10/10 would highly recommend.

My experience with Derek Ian at Forever Tattoo could not have been better! I had my daith pierced here about three weeks ago, and I was thrilled with how well it went. It was my first "serious" piercing, and I was slightly nervous, but Derek created a very calm and relaxed environment that put me at ease. The shop is very clean and nice. Derek explained everything to me in very detailed terms, and was the picture of professionalism. He's someone who really knows his craft. I've already recommended Forever Tattoo to friends, and I plan to go back for more piercings. I live in Greenville, SC, and had less-than-stellar experiences with piercing parlors here, so it was absolutely worth the drive to Asheville to go here. I really cannot say enough good about it!

This is a long review, so here's the long and short: Derek (and Forever Tattoo and Piercing) is great! He's very knowledgeable and patient, the place is extremely clean, and overall it was a great experience.

I was looking to get a spiral/weave piercing done. I already had two piercings, but I wanted to connect them with four new piercings. This is a slightly unusual piercing, so I had already tried one place in downtown Asheville before I walked into Forever Tattoo and Piercing.

When I walked in, Derek (the piercer) greeted me. He was really friendly and attentive. I explained what I wanted, and he told me how he'd go about doing it. I had originally planned to get the spiral piece put in at the same time as the piercing, but Derek suggested doing the piercings, letting them heal, and then putting the spiral piece in after a month or so. He was very knowledgeable and took the time to make sure I was on board with everything.

The place itself (especially the piercing room) was extremely clean. All of the earrings come individually packaged and sterilized and were of the highest grade surgical steel. Derek took some time to clean down everything between the person before me and my piercing. He used a new needle for each of my piercings.

When it came to the piercing itself, Derek explained every step of the way. Some people would call him chatty, but I really appreciated that he explained everything he was doing as he was doing it -- no surprises! He also had me do some breathing exercises while he was piercing, which I found really centered me and decreased the pain level to almost nil.

Even after I paid, Derek was still very attentive to me. He took some pictures for his portfolio, and then walked me through the care instructions. He even gave me recommendations for who to go to when I get the spiral earring put in (I'm from out of state, so I can't go back to him).

It's been a week since I got my (quadruple) piercing, and everything is healing great. I've had such a great experience with Forever Tattoo and Piercing. Definitely the place to go!

I went into Forever Tattoo and Piercing for a spur of the moment ear piercing. I could not have been happier with my choice to go with this parlor. It was very clean and the the staff was extremely welcoming. My piercer Derek was absolutely wonderful. He helped me create a piercing that was unique yet simple. He talked to me throughout the procedure. I felt calm and well informed during my entire experience. I would certainly go back to FTP for my next piercing!

Had an awesome experience getting my navel pierced here. This is my first non-ear piercing, and I absolutely love it. Derek was really nice and professional, and the jewelry at Forever Tattoo is beautiful. (if you get the color customized be sure to ask to see the process, so cool!) If you're in school they offer a nice student discount, so that helps with the price, but considering the quality of the jewelry and the level of comfort and professionalism, the price is already more than reasonable. I will definitely be going back in the future. Can't recommend enough.

Update: Had my tragus done there today. It looks wonderful and was totally painless. I'd give six stars if I could.

Met Derek on a visit, and have always wanted a small piercing. He was kind and informative, and I am so happy that he came to find Forever. I love my new jewelry and will be stopping by soon to shop for more.

But what impressed me the most with them both is their level of care. Derek actually called to check on my progress and to make sure I wasn't having any issues. You just don't see that kind of service and care anymore. Amazing, really. Highly recommend!
