Weeping Willow Tattoo: A Mixed Bag of Reviews

If you're looking for a tattoo shop in Grand Forks, North Dakota, Weeping Willow Tattoo might be on your list. However, before you make an appointment, it's worth noting that this shop has received mixed reviews from customers.

On the positive side, some customers have praised the shop's artists for their work. One reviewer mentioned that they were impressed by the quality of their tattoo and would be back for more. Another customer noted that the shop specializes in Old School to script to dot work, and some of the artists there could work in a big-city shop.

However, other customers have had negative experiences at Weeping Willow Tattoo. Some have mentioned that their tattoos turned out sloppy, with uneven lines and sections missing ink. One reviewer even said that their tattoo artist was rude and made them uncomfortable during the session. Another customer noted that the shop practices art theft, stealing flash sheets from other artists without permission.

It's also worth noting that some customers have had trouble with scheduling appointments. One reviewer mentioned that they had set up an appointment and received two confirmation texts, but when they arrived at the shop, it was locked up. They waited for 90 minutes and tried to contact the shop, but received no response.

Overall, Weeping Willow Tattoo seems to be a mixed bag. While some customers have had positive experiences, others have had negative experiences with sloppy tattoos and unprofessional behavior. If you're considering this shop, it might be worth doing some additional research and reading more reviews before making an appointment.

Bad Quality Rushed Service Disappearing Artists

I’ve gone to this place a couple times for tattoos to give them a shot and they’ve disappeared every time. Granted they were walk ins, I guess. First, I got a couple Roman numeral tattoos on the back of my shoulder blades, and they’re faded and lines are over drawn, from what I’ve heard from other people. I can’t see them myself unless it’s with a mirror. The second one I got, my sister in law and I were excited to get matching tattoos for our birthdays and it was also her first tattoo. We showed the artist and he sat and made his sketch and when scheduling us, he realized he had an appointment an hour and a half later and I told him it was fine if you could only do one of ours, but he insisted he could do both. I wish I would have listened to my gut. Both of the tattoos turned out sloppy because he rushed himself. I hate it. Not close to symmetrical at all, extremely thick lines on one side, fading a bit… The artist cared more about the money than taking his time on a simple piece. The photos are mine, if I can, I’ll add my sister in laws later.

Edit, the last two are my sister in laws. One picture is from the day after and the other is recent. And a reference to show what we wanted.

Bad Tattoos Rude Artist Uneven Lines

I have been waiting a while to write this review. I don’t normally like to say anything bad but all of my friends told me I needed to. I got my worst tattoos from here. I got two at once thinking all would be well. The art on their website seemed great but the two tattoos I received are terrible. The tattoo artist was rude and made me uncomfortable on top of that. The lines on one of my tattoos are uneven there’s almost no ink in sections that should be one line. The tattoo lines just break or are super thin compared to everywhere else in some sections. The other tattoo is a half circle a sun. I was impressed by how small the tattoo artist did the words under the half circle but again the the lines that are longer are uneven and terrible. The half circle which is supposed to be for a sun has dent on it and is slightly squiggly. If there were only slight squiggles in the line I may be able to look past it but there’s a dent in the half circle that is super noticeable. I’ve never had such bad tattoos. The tattoo artist seemingly couldn’t follow a line unless it was a dot or two

Unprofessional artist Poor quality work Lack of attention to detail Poor hygiene practices

Worst tattoo experience. I have five tattoos all from separate shops both in the region and out of state. This is the most unprofessional artist I have met (including calling something r****ded). It was obvious the artist had not read the description of the work I was getting before my appointment. I had to correct him multiple times on my simple lettering design on the backs of my hands, as he did not seem to know what he was doing. I ended up omitting details that I wanted to include because the artist could not make the stencils symmetric between the two hands. Lines throught the design are not straight and appear sloppy. The artist touched his cellphone during the tattoo session without changing his gloves as well as got up from the station to help a walk in as he was the only employee in the shop. The artist did not bandage me when my tattoos were finished and did not go through any aftercarwith me, except for handing me a print out. Devastated that I wasted my time and money at this shop. Boo hiss

great artist friendly staff recommend

This was my first tattoo, but I won't be my last. Luiz Morales did an amazing job and he was so willing to help me take me idea and turn it into ink. The whole team was very friendly and they all made me and my wife Brianna fell like we belonged there sharing stories and life experiences. I will definitely be going back for more and would recommend anyone to stop by an set up an appointment. Loved the whole experience!!!

Art Theft Unprofessional

I’ve found that multiple flash sheets they offer up for their own monetary gain are stolen from other artists. They claim they have the right to use the images because they found them on google and “google is public”. This shop is unprofessional and frequently practices art theft. If you want to see for yourself go to their Facebook page and use reverse image search on any of their flash sheets. They clearly don’t believe in an artist’s right to their work and they think that if something has been posted to the internet it is fair to take. If you see one of their flash sheets and want it done the way it was intended, seek out the original artist.

Talented Artists Reasonable Pricing Free Touch-ups

This place is like visiting a crazy house, but the work they do here in Grand Forks is much needed. Specializing in Old School to script to dot work. Some of the individuals here I would expect to work in a big-city shop. You pay per hour and they provide free touch-ups. Look at the portfolios.
