I have been getting tattooed by Dr. Julien for ten years. He first did a Qwerty letterboard on my arm so that my non-speaking son could type to communicate. The only thing standing between him and I communicating was letters and Julien graciously donated this tattoo to me so that I have a functional communication tattoo. When my live-in caregiver was ready for hers, he also donated hers as well. I went on to have a full sleeve and another large piece on my leg and torso and some other smaller tatoo;s. He is beyond talented, often free handing these amazing color rich pieces from just photo inspiration. He is respectful and I always feel heard and my vision honored. I am proud to wear these works of art on my body. The quality is worth every penny. I can’t imagine going anywhere else.

I had a great experience at Black Lotus Tattoo and I would highly recommend checking them out if you’re in the Eugene area. I was looking specifically for an artist who could do watercolor as that was how the original piece of art was created and Black Lotus kept coming up in my search. After looking on the website and having a conversation with Dr. Julien, I knew he was the artist I needed. The painting holds a special place in my heart as my grandma painted it, and Dr. Julien brought it to life on my skin. I will definitely be back for more tattoos.

I am incredibly happy with the experience that I had at Black Lotus Tattoo. It was easy to setup an appointment, and Jasmine(sp?) was super helpful. Travis did a superb job with the design ideas I gave him, and the tattoo is just what I wanted. It has been about a month since I got my the piece done, and having carefully followed the instructions I was given the tattoo healed very nicely. I am definitely going to return for more work. So happy with Black Lotus Tattoo!

I walked in about an hour after they had opened to talk about a tattoo idea. I didn't get the gentleman's name but he was really cool to talk to and helped me with how to get ahold of his co-workers who would be better suited for the style of tattoo I want. I think it would be good for them to add his portfolio to the website so customers can see there is more than two tattooist at the shop. If I want to get a more traditional style tattoo I would totally have the guy who helped me do it from how helpful and laid back he was.
