Northwest Tattoo

Max turned my idea into a work of art. My tattoo came out so much better than what I had brought him. He's a wizard, and has impeccable attention to detail. I wish these guys had been open for my first two tattoos. I cannot recommend this place enough. Lightyears ahead of the Eugene competition. Super clean and chill atmosphere too!

Sarah Knapp did my tattoo and she was delightful as well as professional. I traveled all the way from Bend, Oregon to get it from her. It was definitely worth it! The shop was clean and unique with each artist having their art at their station. The vibe is very much geared towards the artistry that goes along with tattooing and I felt many of the other artists I ran into we're very friendly and passionate about what they do. It was my first big tattoo and Sarah kept me distracted by telling me the story of Frida as well as anything else we could talk about! There was a beautiful portrait of Frida she had on her wall that she had done and I asked her about it. It was neat to learn about the art work as well as tattooing in general. I look forward to my next tattoo from Sarah and will be recommending her to others. She used a plastic film to cover my tattoo and that made all of my aftercare even easier. I am almost all healed up and so happy with my tattoo as well as the experience I had. Keep it up!

Ryan was the nicest artist I have ever had the pleasure of working with, he kept open dialogue when I wanted to talk and also was quite when I was focused on something else. I had a blast from start to finish and he has some of, if not the best geometric and black work tattoos I have ever seen. Check out his Instagram page if you want to see examples.

I originally emailed him telling him what I want and I why I wanted it. He responded saying that the design would look good and the idea was solid. We met up for an appointment to get measurements of my arm and then a few weeks later started the tattoo. I also love in Portland so it was a bit of a drive to get down to the shop, but I know that it was worth every minute of the commute down to Eugene.

I have received nothing but awesome praise from people walking down the street and complimenting me on my tattoo. My favorite compliment was from a lady who walked past while I was prepping a boat for launch. She said, "Is that a tattoo? I have never seen anything like that, it looks really good and is a great design" I told her thank you and she responded with, "Normally I hate tattoos and think people are dumb to get them, but that is the only tattoo that I have ever liked and that was not a bad idea."

I just wanted to let the world know how great Ryan is and how I can't wait to work with him more in the future.

Seem like good artists. its a shame that it takes a week and a second email just to get a response from them. i get that folks are busy but is it really too much to expect a simple response saying i got your email and i will be in touch shortly to arrange a meeting? and that is after stopping by just to be chased off with a business card and the directive to "send me an email and ill be in touch" . seems like the courteous way to do things to me. guess ill stick with the Portland shops that at least understand they are running a business. glad these folks are busy enough to not need to worry about things like customer acquisition and retention. good luck

Love this place! Everyone there is so nice, very amenable, and extremely talented and a variety of styles that they excel at. I live in Seattle and still come down here to get tattooed sometimes. Would recommend this over any other place I’ve been tattooed at.
