Custom Body Art

I couldn't have enough great things to say about my experience at Custom Body Art. Both these guys were super friendly! I went in and got a quote from Ray, who was recommended to me by a friend, and showed him the design I had in mind. I love to see an artist get excited about his work! He was instantly super enthusiastic, encouraging and absolutely excited to get started. The next day he had a drawing completely done for me to look at, and I was totally impressed! I absolutely trusted his judgement. He's the type of artist that will tell you if he thinks your design could look better another way, or altered slightly. That's his resume on your skin, he's not going to let you walk out of there with something stupid or ridiculous, and I love that! Ray made sure I was really comfortable, he was clean and professional, and consistently made sure I was okay throughout the almost four hours he was tattooing me. The result was stunning and his line work is perfect! He's a super friendly, easy going guy with a fantastic bedside manner. I'd recommend him to anyone, and he'll definitely be doing future tattoos for me!

Ray has literally covered my arm with rose tattoos. He lets be as picky as a person can be. He's always patient and kind. He is beyond reasonable with pricing. I can't see anyone ever having a problem with him. I have been tattooed once by MANY people. I've gone back to Ray FOUR times. My husband's been back millions of times. If I knew what else I wanted I'd be back in tomorrow. He's a great guy and a wonderful tattoo artist!

I recently turned 18 and I got my first tattoo over the weekend. I seriously couldn't have asked for a better experience! Steve did an amazing job on mine and my dad's matching tattoos. He knew this was my first and throughout the process would ask me if I was okay or if I needed to take a break which made me feel very comfortable. I have recommended him to all of my friends who are wanting ink soon, and I'll definitely be coming back!

Me and my wife have been getting tattoo work done by Ray Bumpus at Custom body Art since Jan 14'. Ray's attitude and tattoo work are absolutely amazing, he is always interested in a new worthwhile project and is always very helpful with ideas and open to ours. We always feel welcome in the shop and Ray's ability with the tattoo machine can't be beat, his attention to detail and line work are the best I've ever seen, along with a friendly, personable attitude makes Ray and Custom as a whole the spot to be. 10 tattoos and counting!!!!!!!!!!! wont ever go to anyone else.

I recently had a half sleeve done by Ray Bumpus, He is an amazing artist and a very professional guy. I love his honesty about the work he does and that he will not attempt to do things he is not comfortable doing just to make a buck. My last tattoo by another tattoo shop only took like an hour and I had had enough and wanted out of the chair. My half sleeve took over 3 hours and I did fine all the way through it because Ray is not heavy handed and is very attentive to keeping the pain to a minimal. I have several more tattoos on my list that I want and can not wait to start my next one, They will definitely be from Ray.

Steve is very talented and professional. His shop is immaculate. He has done a couple of my tattos...one that is 15 years old and now the newest one. They are vibrant and even the old one looks new. Great job. Thank you.

I have been going to Custom for a long time now. I have tattoos done by both Ray and Steve. These guys are flipping amazing! I have never ever had a bad experience with them. They are both fantastic tattoo artist and if you say otherwise you must be out of your freaking mind. Ray does absolutely beautiful traditional work, as well as amazing color. Steve has done a full color sleeve on me and I get compliments nonstop everyday. I also have other pieces done by Steve and couldn't be happier! They also have some of the best pricing in town. I highly, highly recommend them if you are looking to get a new tattoo. I also recommend that you also do your research before getting a tattoo as well. If you are new to the tattoo scene, make sure you think long and hard about what you want before you get it. Granted, tattoo artist are allowed to pass on tattoos that they don't think would be the right fit for them. This isn't because they don't want to do it, it is simply because they want you to have the best tattooing experience possible. They feel that another tattoo artist will simply do a better job at fulfilling the customer's expectations. Remember, that getting a tattoo should have a special meaning behind it and shouldn't be about getting one because everyone else is doing it. Tattoos aren't just some fad, they are a life commitment. They are going to be on your body for the rest of your life, so make sure the tattoo is clear, large, and precise. And be sure to care for your tattoo properly after you get it! I cannot stress this enough. A lot of tattoos turn out shitty because people do not take care of them after they are done! Wear your damn sunscreen when you are out in the sunlight or in a tanning bed! If you ever have any questions do not hesitate to ask your tattoo artist! They are professionals. But, again, Custom Body Art is one of the best tattoo shops around in Medford. If you need proof, just check out the tattoos on my body! ;)

I have been to a couple of tattoo shops around here an Ray is by far the best tattoo artist I've had the pleasure of being tattooed by. I luv my tattoos that he had done and there will be many more to come. He's very professional and has a great attitude. I've never had the experience of laughing while being tattooed. That is tell I met him thank you Ray!! I would recommend him to anyone!! P.S. Ray does not do consultations. :)

Steve did my first tat 30some years ago. He happily redid it when my Mrs. and I got our 25 year anniversary tattoos. I'll come back when I want another tattoo.

i absolutely loved it! ray is an amazing artist! he's very straight forward and honest about everything... i am definitely going to be sending my friends there and definitely going to be getting more work done!!! thank you so much for loving to tattoo ! keep up the good work guys!
