Got a tattoo with Marlena and it turned out great! I sent her a few reference photos and she drew up a badass cowgirl & helped to make sure the placement was perfect. Overall great experience she made sure I was comfortable the whole time and the piece came out amazing! I will be back and I highly recommend Marlena.

I made a walk in appointment and specifically asked for an artist that could do American traditional on my arm. The staff told me it wouldn’t be any problem and set me up with an appointment with their first available, artist, and told me she could do American traditional similar to the tattoos that I already have. The tattoo came out horribly and the style doesn’t even come close to matching any of my other tattoos. Very disappointed with this experience.

Grizzly as a whole seems great, though I can only really rate based on my experience with the artist who did my piece. Artist Chris Valkov created a piece based on my idea/story, and it ended up being a totally unique and personalized piece that I'm 100% happy with. It seems that there are artists here to fit any type of customer, from those looking for a small fun piece to those wanting something totally personal and bold. I searched Portland for a shop/artist that I was confident in for over 2 years before stumbling on Grizzly, and their quality and pricing are miles above the other shops filled with bros and uptight hipsters who do average work. I would highly recommend this shop (and Chris in particular) if you are looking for a good tattoo experience.

Laura is the best!! She spent the time with me prior to my tattoo to customized the design and it came out better than I had imagined. She has a light hand as it was the least painful tattoo experience I have had thus far. Will definitely go back to work with her!

The parlor itself has a nice warm and welcoming atmosphere, and Tyler does amazing work. Both my friend and I came in for a same-day. Definitely coming back here if I ever decide to get anything else done!

Grizzly has the best artists. Always friendly, welcoming, and just all around great. Laura has done a few tattoos for my wife and I will be getting my next one from her. I love her art style. Great place for a first or fiftieth tattoo.
