In the Blood Tattoos & Rock

After reviewing and checking out a few places, I settled on In The Blood. I'm really happy I did because it was an amazing experience. I got my first two tattoos done by the owner, Justin, who was just awesome! He was so friendly and made my first tattoo experience amazing. My ink is still healing, but it's holding up pretty well. They are very neat and exactly what I wanted. Also, I should mention that I did not have an appointment and just walked in. I was immediately greeted, started getting sketches done, and in less than 40 minutes, I was done with everything. Definitely I'll be going back for my tattoos from here on out.

I got my first tattoos here last week. I immediately noticed how clean it was inside and precautions for social distancing were followed. Mike was my tattoo artist and he did a wonderful job on both of them. Will return for any future artwork!

I got my first tattoo done by Mike yesterday! He was extremely professional and down to earth. He did an amazing job and made me feel comfortable the entire time. I got a thigh tattoo and it was done in less than do hours, shading and everything. The detail in my tattoo turned out so amazing. Already booked my next appt. He will be doing all my tattoos from now on! I recommend this place to everyone!

Stop reading reviews and just go get a tattoo from these young gentlemen. They are super chill but really professional and quick. Coming from Misery Ink to InTheBlood is such a huge shell shock in the best way. I'm used to dealing with unprofessional lazy artists and since I started coming to InTheBlood I now realize what a real tattoo shop should be like. These guys are the real deal. Easily the best shop in Pittsburgh. You will not be disappointed.

My absolute favorite and only place for tattoos. Mike and Justun are both amazing artists and great professionals! This was today by Mike.

Always an amazing experience. The tattooers really listen to you no matter how big or small the piece. Clean, comfortable environment. Everyone is incredibly talented. Their art is worth ever cent. All of the guys are great. My husband and I go to Mike and will never go to anyone else as long as he's working there. Impeccable professionalism all around.

I got my first tattoo recently at In the Blood, and couldn't be happier. I went to Mike after looking through his portfolio, and seeing that he excelled at the type of work I wanted. When the appointment came, he walked me through the whole process, took my feedback on his sketch, and overall did a fabulous job while making me feel very comfortable. I will definitely be going back to him in the future.

I got a tattoo about 9 years ago with Seth. It seems like he may not be there anymore from what I’ve seen on the shop’s instagram page (it also seems like the shop pumps out some super badass pieces, especially recently, but unfortunately that wasn’t my experience). Almost every line was blown out which has made the piece completely unreadable over the years. There is a significant amount of scarring. My hope is that some day I can return and get a sick piece from another artist at the shop to redeem my experience.

I have been getting my tattoos done exclusively at In the Blood for over 10 years. I cannot say enough positive things about this studio. The space itself is beautiful, clean and comfortable. The staff are all professional, friendly and knowledgeable. Collaborating on a design is simple, yet staff will give you an honest expert opinion of what will and won’t work. Justun has done the lion’s share of my work for myriad reasons. As an artist, he is very skilled and precise; his drawings are beautiful. As an artist who tattoos, he is efficient and careful, always thoughtful and checks in during the process to ensure I’m okay. As a person, he is approachable, kind, sincere, and easy to talk to (which makes a long session seem to go by quickly).

Justun’s line work is unmatched by any other artist I’ve worked with. I get so many compliments on his work. If you’re on the fence about getting your first tattoo, or unsure of where to go in the Pittsburgh area, you won’t regret choosing this studio.
