I recently arrived to my appointment at Local Color, and my artist Shannon allowed her apprentice to set up. The apprentice took 45 minutes to set up, and even longer to place my stencil three separate times. Shannon had to correct her the first time, a sign that she shouldn’t be allowed to do set up in the first place. At this point I was there for an hour with nothing to show for it. When Shannon finally (correctly) placed my stencil, we both agreed that my chosen design was not ideal for the spot I wanted it in, partly because at this point I was extremely frustrated. To my surprise, she told me she’d still be charging me for the ‘session’, even though she admitted that she didn’t pay close enough attention to my ‘consultation’ email, as she thought it was going on a different part of my body despite me being very clear. This was after she and the apprentice wasted an hour of my time . Instead of charging me the extra $10 on top of my $50 deposit ($60 shop minimum), she said she would just keep my $50 deposit as I was clearly very taken aback. I later explained in an email why I believe I should be refunded my $50, and Shannon responded back very unprofessionally, claiming I had “threatened” her for saying I would post a review if not refunded, while also denying my refund. This is how a 3-year loyal customer is treated at this shop. If customer service means nothing to you, please go ahead and book an appointment!

Got 2 tattoos here for the first time ever. Shannon was my artist and was amazing. She is extremely talented, helped ease my nerves, and answered every question I had. Would highly recommend her. For any future tattoos, I will definitely come back to the shop.

There's not enough stars to represent the greatness of this place or those who work there. Everyone I have spoken to or interacted with is very kind. I've had a tattoo done by Shannon and Mike years ago and was very pleased. Recently, had new work done by Mike and I absolutely LOVE it! Mike is an incredible artist and his tattoos are perfection. My trust and business stays here for sure.

Soooo happy with it. I would get another in a heartbeat. It was a rib tattoo which is supposed to be kind of more painful but she did a great job and it was not too painful at all ! Best of all the results are amazing. I had almost no redness, no peeling or itching. It’s been almost a week and I couldn’t be more happy.

My sister wanted to get her septum pierced and I tagged along. I had no intention of getting mine redone since it killed the first time (got it done at different shop). But then I heard it was $10 and it would be done by Jules who we read good things about, I decided to give it another go.
It was an amazing experience! Jules was very helpful and friendly, her mentor observed/helped to make sure everything was perfect, and I didn’t hurt at all! I highly recommend this place for both the atmosphere and the quality of service👍
