I got a custom tattoo here by Jumo! Loved the experience. It was not my first tattoo, but was by far my longest session (4+ hours) and I was comfortable the entire time. I was able to drink water and snack as I needed. I felt like the breaks we took were helpful and well-timed and the next time I'm looking for custom work and back in town, I'll definitely be a repeat client!

I got my first tattoo at Black Serum with Kevin (Blackstone Tattoo) and had an awesome experience!! I was pretty nervous since this was my first tattoo. Kevin was super helpful every step of the way. He communicated the process well and helped me feel at ease, from booking to finished product. He was super patient and helpful in working through the design I wanted, and offered great artistic ideas to develop a final design that I'm super happy with. My tattoo healed really well and the inkwork is pristine! Super crisp and precise without being too fine, which is exactly what I wanted. The shop itself is gorgeous--clean, comfortable, and welcoming. I definitely want to go back already. Pic is my tattoo 6 weeks healed. Thank you Kevin and Black Serum!

Oro is an incredible artist and also such a lovely person. I was a little apprehensive of getting my first tattoo, but my sister and I wanted something special to symbolize our mom with late stage terminal cancer. Oro was kind, thoughtful, and sincere and thoughtfully and carefully helped my sister and I design the most lovely tattoo, even using our mom's own handwriting! So amazing for my sister and I to have a matching piece of art that is truly like having our mom with us. Thank you Oro, for everything. Truly love this and was the best experience working with you

The regulations/procedures are straightforward. Black Serum is a nice and clean building. All artists are respectful of each other’s time and work. It was very professional and friendly. The guest artist I worked with is named Yutae. His instagram name is tattoist_yutae. His work is really detailed. I love the tattoo piece I got from him. I’ve been wanting a center back tattoo piece for a while now and his artwork fits perfectly to my style. He is very careful and precise with his work.

I cannot say enough about how positive my experience with Anita Darkling was. I got my very first tattoos with her (two in one session), and she also squeezed in my dad. I'll highlight a few things that I especially appreciated, BEYOND her amazing talent: 1) She is extremely professional and sets super clear expectations about working with her, whether it's about her email response time, her design process/preferences, how to pay, how the tattoo heals, etc. 2) I had a lot of questions, last minute decisions, and requests -- both about the tattoo itself, but also the date, and about my dad joining the appointment. Anita was SO accommodating and kind. She provided lots of options for designs, let my dad make a day-of (and pretty much hour-of) decision about getting a tattoo, and never made us feel like a burden for having questions or taking time to make decisions (in fact, she encouraged it). 3) Maybe most importantly, Anita brought so much compassion to all our interactions. I had never gotten a tattoo before, and my dad is currently struggling with pretty severe anxiety, and she helped both of us feel comfortable and calm. TBH, I almost fell asleep during my first tattoo because I was so relaxed! I will definitely work with Anita again and encourage everyone to book with her if you can! P.S. There is a clear bandage over our tattoos in the photo. Also, the Black Serum studio is so nice and comforting. Loved the music and vibes!

This shop is absolutely beautiful with a calm atmosphere and even when there were four other artists working with clients, it was nice and comfortably quiet. My artist (Mimi-sama) is extremely talented and I could not be more happy with the absolute beauty of her work. Her line work and the amount of depth she is able to achieve is stunning. 10/10 I intend to come back for my next tattoo.

I got tattooed here recently by Jow Jow (@jowjow_inks on Instagram) and she was so amazing! Very chill and professional, I felt completely relaxed and at ease being tattooed by her. Obviously it hurt but she was much more gentle than other artists I’ve worked with and even sent me a followup email after. I have quite a few tattoos and this was probably one of my favorite experiences, I can’t speak highly enough of this artist.

If you are ever planning to get inked, this is the place to get it! From the owner and the artists, everyone is amazingly out of this world and we need kind people like the folks at Blk Serum in this world. The craftsmanship of the artistry and tattooing is phenomenal. Oro is a fine needle wizard and his creativity is unmatched!

I came here for the first time today to get a new tattoo, and had a great experience. This shop is very clean, professional, and everyone I spoke to was friendly and courteous. They do not do walk-ins so make sure you book an appointment.

Absolutely incredible shop. Beautifully designed, everyone was so nice, and my tattoo artist, MimiSama was so welcoming and easy to talk to. Clearly a master at her craft in manga and black & white tattoos. She also really helped me feel confident about size and placement as well, as it ended up being different from where I originally wanted it (thankfully so!!). Music was also amazing, just chill lofi mixed with some ODEZA…so relaxing. I had the most wonderful experience! Highly highly recommend!!

I had a great time at Black Serum last week! Kucci was my tattooer & she was so great throughout every step. She was sweet, accommodating, and direct, and the session was a breeze. I particularly appreciated her clarity in communication before and during the tattoo, the precision of the stencil placement, and the efficiency of her work. Her lines are SO clean and the colors are SO vibrant, it was worth every penny. I also really loved the setup of the shop - there are plenty of stations (I wondered if it ever fills up at times) but it felt so roomy and the high ceilings had detailed mouldings that helped keep my mind busy. I loved the dark rustic accents and how trendy and warm it felt - I hope to go back again sometime.

I got my Totoro tattoo done by Mimi-Sama and I am so satisfied with the service, tattoo, and loved the conversation I had with the artist. She has been doing tattoos for a while now, and she cares a lot about the quality of the tattoo and makes sure you love it! I have been planning on getting this tattoo for a while now, and she made my reference photos and description come to life with this tattoo. She’s very professional, very clean with her area, and super fun to talk to! I plan on getting another tattoo by her in a month and she’s also very accessible for future questions, comments, concerns or touch ups during the healing process!

I recently got a tattoo with @mimi_sama.tattoo and she was SO AMAZING AND SO ACCOMMODATING to my requests! Incredibly flexible, kind, genuine, and patient artist and I'm so glad I was able to obtain a half sleeve with her. I asked quite a lot from her, as I asked for not only one large intricate tattoo, but a few small ones and another large one. She was incredible during the entire process and made me feel welcome and comfortable expressing what I wanted. Mimi is a seasoned professional tattoo artist, and I give her my highest recommendation. :) A personal anecdote is that she bought me one of her favorite meals at a nearby restaurant, Shrimp Risotto because I expressed I was interested to try it!! :'-) TRULY the sweetest tattoo artist and I definitely will return when another piece resonates with me!

Anita was amazing to work with from the first design all the way through the appointment. She was very helpful and eager to make me feel comfortable and excited for the tattoo, which turned out INCREDIBLE. Such a good experience. The shop was fun, safe, and professional.
