Brayton is an amazing local Santa Cruz artist...and a really nice guy who's dedicated to excelling at his craft, while following hygienic best practices.

I highly recommend Brayton and his work. I’ve had two tattoos done by him so far and a third one scheduled! I was able to give him my vision for all three and he’s been able to take it and make it even better. He’s a true artist. My first tattoo by him was a realistic portrait of my kitty. I was nervous since it was so personal but it ended up looking EXACTLY like her. Amazing! He is usually booked out months in advance but it’s worth the wait. Trust Brayton with your next tattoo!

Heavy Water Tattoo and Brayton is the best tattoo place to go in the bay area. I gave Brayton a very simple idea for a tattoo and he used his artistic view and turned it into something that was absolutely amazing! I was so impressed with his ability to improvise and give me wayyy more than I expected. I would recommend him to any first timers or people coming back for the 100th tattoo. His shop is sparkly clean and he uses nothing but the best equipment. Along with the artistic view Brayton has a great personality and doesn't make you feel in the least bit uncomfortable. He is overly welcoming and willing to work with you with whatever questions you may have. Heavy Water Tattoo is the place to go and you won't regret it!!

If you are not sure where to get your next tattoo, check out his work, make an appointment for a consultation, (which you can do through email or text), meet him and you will not be disappointed. He has a light hand, amazing grasp of shading and attention to detail, as well as some really good coffee. I can definitely see why he won best tattoo shop for 2016 and 2017.
