Loved everything about the place, the people, the comics, the whole experience of getting my first tattoo was helpful, they assured me pain would be minimal and artist was great

X and the gang are always patient and professional. I went to talk to him about tattoo cover-up for a less-than-stellar tattoo I got when I was 18. After almost 3 consultations, in-depth conversations about why I wanted the tattoos and what they actually meant to me, I pulled the trigger on the tattoos. 3 sessions and quite a few hours later, the tattoos were amazing. It was hard to for me to actually envision the tattoos while talking to him, especially because they were going to be partial cover-ups - one of the things i always appreciated was his patience toward me and for the process. X rolled with my ideas but also used his creativity to make it all work, and make it work with my previous tattoos, arms/physique, and of course the new design. I have gotten so many compliments from many different people, even from other parts of the world. If you want your tattoo to mean something, want it done by professionals, and want it to look amazing right after and years down the road, go to X and Sacred 8/Brushes of Doom. X will be my artist from here out - regardless of if I’m still living in this area. P.s. - Don’t mind my goofy pictures. I’m clearly not a photographer.

A fine shop making the fine tattoos for the people. These gentlemen bring joy to all who pass through their doors. X is a man of uncompromising integrity, he’s a tattooer you want to have your grandma meet. X would make your grandma smile ear to ear with how kind and wonderful the conversations would be. It’s almost elderly abuse if you don’t bring your grandma here to meet X. Don’t trip, grandma is down, you can make her year and gift her that crown of thorns skull rocker she has always wanted. The crew here that backs X up is like an all star line up too… it’s as if they’re all a collective of reallY stand up good dudes…. Cause they are… wild! There’s a ton of picture magazines too with the doodles of cape men’s and laser swords. Doodle mags are the best right? The finest doodle mags, just the finest!! And they sell coffee plus donuts too, made by local entrepreneurs, not too shabby! “Shabby- shabby shibby-shibb dinga-ling-along a-dang-dang-dang-oh”… sorry about that sometimes I just have to quote Red Hot Chilli Peppers lyrics if I can’t find the right words to express my appreciation for something. So yeah, get your grandma, tell her she’s getting her dome-rocker she has been dreaming about and like go check out the Sacred 8 Studio

X , TQ and the whole squad are so awesome and knowledgeable and just all around fun and nice people!! They’re so helpful when it comes to finding the right comic books for me to buy, and the ink they do is out of this world!!! Highly recommend this place for the positive vibes and warm welcomes in the atmosphere. Stop by, you won’t be disappointed!!

THIS STORE IS ABSOLUTLYAMAZING! i could have not been blessed with a better place to get my first tattoo at! He was so great to work with, took his time, created an amazing designed, took my requests to heart and made an awesome piece! super professional and hard working man. He even accommodated me into his schedule, which I'm super grateful for! I'm definitely coming back to get more done here. Such a pleasant experience. THAK YOU SO MUCH!!!!

Community and Culture. I came for the comics, I stay for the people. Art nights, great conversation, and stories. Think if it as a man cave with a great vibe - and it's expanding! There are 2 other comic stores in the Monterey Bay - One focuses on toys and collectibles and is run by a cool industry artist, the other...has been around for a while. Sacred 8 is a tattoo parlor and haven for collectors and fans. You might start with a Spiderman comic and end up with Daredevil tattoo. If you are new to the area this is the place for you. If you know what tattoo you want - ask for X.

Stopped in one day because I wanted to get a small piece on my leg covered up. I spoke with X who was extremely friendly and willing to work with me on my idea even though it wasn't necessarily in his wheelhouse. I was excited and made the appointment for the next week. I felt very welcomed and excited to get this done it was going to be alot of work for my second tattoo. Upon arriving for my appointment I was able to go over the ideas once again and make a few minor changes while also adding an additional piece on the back of my other leg. I love how accommodating X was to make this tattoo experience fantastic! When all was said and done I was left with a fantastic piece that I get constant compliments on! Shout out to Manny another great artist here who recommended the shop to me. If you want an amazing experience with artists who genuinely care to take care of you book here you won't regret it! Not to mention you can pick up a Comic or a unique peice of memorabilia from their amazing selection all over the shop! Thanks guys for the amazing experience I've already got my ideas for next one hope your ready for me!

Heard about this comics/collectibles shop through friends and decided to stop by. The shop had a friendly atmosphere and the staff had a wealth of knowledge surrounding comics and collectibles. The owner was also very helpful and even introduced me to great new comic book lines that I didn’t even know existed. I’m hoping to go back in soon and purchase more books and just browse all the neat collections they have. 10/10 would recommend!

X is nothing short of professional, respectful, and kind. As a female client these are qualities I look for, as getting a tattoo can be a very personal thing. I've never felt more comfortable or at ease with anyone else. He's talented, knowledgeable, and passionate about what he does. He works hard on his craft, and his art reflects that. He values your time as a client and communicates effectively. If he says your appointment is at 10am, you don't have to worry about him showing up 4 hours late. He's an amazing painter who has a great understanding of color theory, and he pours that passion into the people he works with as well. We worked on this Fullmetal Alchemist piece for at least 10 hours. He offers full day session pricing as well as hourly, with breaks in between. If you give him a concept you want, he'll whip up designs and send mock ups your way to see how you like them. We're working on a huge back piece of mine and I'm so excited to see what it'll look like when it's done. X has worked so hard for his business, peers, and clients, and I admire his work ethic and passion. His peers in the shop are also an extension of him, and they have been nothing but kind and courteous as well. I could not recommend Sacred 8 more. You'll be missing out on not stopping by.

Got my largest tattoo here! The artist sketched out what I asked for and it came out beautiful! I’ve already reserved the rest of my arm for my next peice. The room was clean and sterile. He changed gloves constantly and made sure to open up all the instruments and ink right in front of me. Highly recommend! The shop has a huge variety of comics and funko pops too. Check it out if you’re in the area.

Hands down the best shop in Monterey county, possibly the best in Cali. Professional and very clean studio. I've gotten 2 tattoos by X and will be going for my 3rd one soon. I always recommend this studio to family and friends.

💯DONT DO IT!!! Their quility sucks so bad!!!id post the pic but it’s embarrassing!!!the good reviews are only cause the older brother in the shop can tattoo portraits …I recently went to the shop and the man know as “X” (the older brother),at the time had no clients and still lets his still learning younger brother tattoo me and my wife…mind you I’m a tattoo artist myself and this was my wife’s first tattoo so I watched carfully, only putting them on blast for your safety. They are not clean! They are talented! All they can do is copy and draw! I watched him lose half his stencil during the tattoo then have his brother come finish the lines! Very unprofessional.. I was very overcharged take note he starts the clock when he starts talking to you and he never shuts up! So enless your pockets are fat and you want some art your ganna have to fix later I’d find another shop 💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯
