From the initial email and phone call to book my appointment to the final tattoo design; I couldn't have asked for a better experience! Jon did an absolute amazing job and was able to capture the emotion I want every time I look at my tattoo. The studio is extremely clean, great playlist, and friendly staff. I highly recommend Empire and can't wait to go back! Thanks again Jon!

They squeezed us in with very short notice. My husband and I knew what we wanted but our artist/ the owner gave great suggestions on how to make it look even better. Very short interaction but they were so kind, helpful and accommodating.

Owen did some really precise work for me. He's friendly and welcomes all feedback. Definitely planning on doing more work soon.

Went for a flash tattoo and had a great experience. Shop was very clean, great vibe, good music, what more could you ask for? Already planning on more ink from Matt.

My fiancé and I both got our first tattoos from Jon recently. To start, the shop is extremely welcoming and clean. Everyone was so friendly and easy going! Jon was great to work with and he did such an amazing job. Listened to exactly what we both wanted and his attention to detail is unmatchable. We couldn't be more happy with how our tattoos came out and highly, highly recommend this shop & Jon. If you're questioning it, this is your sign to book it! You won't regret it :)

Jon and all the staff at empire tattoo all do spectacular work I got a big tattoo covering my whole forearm and i absolutely love it. The detail and line work is absolutely amazing if want to get a good tattoo in ct there’s no other place to go but empire the best shop in probably all of New England

Jon was amazing. He allowed me to take the time to modify the tattoo he created based on the images I sent. He made sure everything was up to his standards and if it wasn’t he would start from the beginning to make sure everything is all set before the actual tattoo. I can’t recommend getting your tattoo from him any more than I can.

Jon and his crew are professional and down to earth. Amazing artists who made me feel comfortable and helped me enjoy the tattoo experience. Very reasonable rates as well. Had to attach some pics of my favorite art in the shop too.

I had the most amazing experience with Matt Hurlburt, I brought a simple piece that he made 10 times more amazing! He made sure I was comfortable at all times, I swore I was going to be in pain. But I didn't feel uncomfortable in the slightest bit. Not onlyis he an amazing artist, but he engages in conversation, he's beyond professional and has literally made me the happiest customer ever!! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND HIM TO ANYONE!

Been going to Jon for my tattoos for about a year now and he never disappoints. Nice clean shop, very professional!

So, I got a tattoo with my girlfriend from Matt two weeks ago. We were super excited because I had heard so many good things about the place! The tattoos came out pretty nice and healed perfectly fine, but we will not be going back to him — here is why. He was extremely snippy and judgmental the entire time — he spent almost the entire time making snarky comments and treating us like we did not know what was going on at all. Then, to top it all off, we noticed he is having a spring flash sale — a flash sale with both of our abstract flowers on there. These abstract flowers are part of 4 album covers that have very distinct flowers. He showed no recognition of knowing the albums and later, only included 2 (our designs) out of the four in the flash sale. He made no attempt to ask us if this would be okay and we only found out through their Instagram. We can’t talk about the rest of the place but Matt is not professional at all. He will use your designs, charge less for them during these flash sales and never get your permission to do so. Connecticut is filled with great tattoo artists, I’d find somewhere else to go. Edit: Jon, the owner was extremely professional and reached out to problem solve. I appreciate the effort he put in to do right by the situation.

I had have nothing but great things to say about Empire tattoo. I felt very comfortable when being tattooed there. They are very personable and even offered Water and protein bar to me during the long sessions it took to finish this piece. Jon Gioia (Owner) did such a fantastic job on the piece I attached. Took his time and gave me the exact tattoo I wanted (With the very fine details) Highly recommend you check them out for your next session.

I Visited Empire Tattoo a about a week ago and it was such a smooth sailing process!The owner Jonathan as well as the other artist in the shop are super friendly and willing to work with whatever it is you want done. The atmosphere as well is top notch!! Just an overall great shop and my tattoo that was done by Jon is exactly how I wanted it and healed flawlessly. Thank you Empire, and thank you Jon.
