Came here for my first tattoo as a walk in. I saw all the amazing reviews and pics of other people's tattoos from here and I thought they would be a great choice for a tattoo I wanted as a memorial for my friend who passed. Ellie was nice and very accommodating at surface level but insisted that getting a small behind the ear tattoo would not work well because it would get fuzzy. After modifying the piece a bit, I asked for small changes to be made (making the petals more rounded/thinning the design a bit), but instead of making a new stencil she said she would add that and to trust her. So I did. But after seeing the results it was clear that she didn't actually carry through with the changes I was asked to "trust her" on. At that point the outline was already on so I figured maybe I'd just let her continue in case she was right and I ended up liking it after it was shaded a bit. Unfortunately though, the shading ended up being very clumped together (not much of a gradual gradient) so I asked her to feather it out a bit more so it was more gradual. She said okay but the end result was just darker in the same areas. At that point I just gave up, (it's already on there, not much I can do) paid, and left. I didn't want to say anything because Ellie was really very nice and patient but unfortunately I just think she missed a lot of important parts that ended up making my very specific ghost plant tattoo into a generic flower so I had to come clean and be honest here.

I went with my daughter to get her first tattoo and piercing. The artists are so nice (Ellie, not sure I spelled it correctly, was so gentle I barely felt it)! The place is very clean! I went in yesterday to get a tattoo of the character Ponyo from the movie by Sam because he specializes in anime style tattoo so i thought he was just the guy to do it! I expressed multiple times at the consultation that I just wanted her by herself from a specific frame. When i came in for my appointment he kept trying to add things and he made her slightly different than the exact picture I wanted and by the third time going to sketch it still wasn't exactly the picture that I wanted so he said, respectfully, I should probably just find a different artist at this point because i guess that just wasnt his style. I didn't want to get something I wasn't completely in love with. I had already put down my deposit of $100 and even at the consultation i said i wanted just her, this exact frame that i showed him. I get wanting to add your own touches on it to make it an original, but I wanted the exact picture that made me fall in love with that character; I've wanted this tattoo for years and knew exactly what it wanted, it was a fairly simple design, I just don't understand why I couldn't get that. He said "thats just not my style, its not a tattoo that i would be proud of" despite being exaclty what I, the person getting the tattoo, wanted. So I left, $100 down and tears in my eyes, everyones time wasted. I was so excited but I'm honestly so hurt and disappointed. I guess its my fault though that I should have made sure everyone was on the same page before putting the deposit down to make sure everyone leaves happy. Everyone was nice and professional, but I'm so disappointed.

The whole process was smooth from beginning to end. The guy at the front desk was nice, gathered my info made sure to double check that he returned my ID. Miles performed the piercing he was gentle, precise (literally made sure markings were perfect), sweet and him being cute didn’t hurt lol. My piercings are healing nicely. BY FAR the best Tattoo experience I have had in my 20 years of getting tattoos. I can only say words like amazed blessed and purely grateful I waited on my idea and design for years and found my new tattoo artist Chico at Black Rose Tattoo. If you live in the ATL area or want an amazing experience where your Tattoo looks like a piece of artwork call or stop by this place. Chico and the other artist are amazing and the vibe is relaxed with a chill variety playlist and they have wifi where I hooked my laptop up ad watched some movies and just kicked back and got my half sleeve. I have one more session to finish my vision and half sleeve but Chico has truly brought that vision to life. Below is a pic from session 1 and will add the finished product once done. We just recently moved from Cali (the Bay Area) to Atlanta and I’ve been holding off on getting more tats for a minute now, but I’m glad I did because I found @lettersbyfreddy. Freddy is professional and downright great at what he does! If you want any lettering done then he’s your guy. I randomly stopped at Black Rose, on the fly, just to see what they’re about; from the minute you walk in you feel welcomed and at ease. Everyone was kind, and down to earth. Great atmosphere, to say the least. If you’re thinking of getting tatted, pierced, etc then try this spot! They don’t disappoint! I’ve gotten 2 pieces done in 2 weeks by Freddy (by appt of course), and I’m in love with them!

The piercer did not clean my earlobe off with any alcohol before piercing. I am concerned about infection because of that. Other than that the experience was fine. If you do go to black rose for a piercing I would ask them to make sure to clean the area first. Which I assumed was standard practice. “ Update” The real issue was the piercer did not clean my earlobe at all before piercing it.

Great experience from start to finish. Andrew was my point of contact via email. He was very patient and kept me informed of info needed, dates, etc., prior to getting my tatoo. The artist, Freddy, worked with me, and made suggestions to give me exactly what I needed. He kept me abreast of each step and took pics with my phone of the progress. I messed up and gave him the wrong date, which he fixed and you couldn't tell it was changed. I was given explicit instructions on how to take care of my tatoo, which I followed. When my busy schedule allows, I will be back for the next one that Freddy and I already worked out on his tablet. See you soon guys.

I hate to leave this review because a friend of mine told me about this place. The two stuff that I had the chance to meet was very rude and straight up lied in my face. Instead of saying they didn’t want to do my daughter’s piercing. when I showed my ID and gave my consent to do so. All of sudden they couldn’t find the pdf file that is on their computer is no longer there and this big black printer before us was no longer useful. But you want me and my daughter to come back Monday for owner to print it out. Coming from one business owner to the next teach your stuff how to lie with a straight face. Thank you.
