EDIT: SINCE IT APPEARS I CAN'T REPLY TO RESPONSES. The price increase for supplies is understandable:) I will also say this was my first tattoo in Paducah (my prior artists were from Marion & Carbondale areas). My main point in addressing the price was that the quality did not match the price (in my opinion) for this particular artist (Taylor). The design that was drafted was reviewed & approved prior (simplified, but not something I couldn't have further worked later on, due to time constraints); however, there was no discussion of the lines (especially borders) being made significantly thicker than the computer drawing, nor the stencil, which was still fairly thick (the prior education/discussion regarding the lines being made thick would have been preferable, so I could have declined). Also, the reference photo i used had NO shading, and neither did the computer model/stencil, and I was not asked about adding shading at any point; however, when I looked toward the end of the tattoo process and saw what she was doing, my tattoo was already partially shaded and in such a way I could not tell her to stop w/o it looking completely goofy & bizarre. I feel as if artistic liberties were taken, and the communication should have been better. My tattoo has since healed since my review, and there are small areas of scarring where she went too deep, and the lines are not as neat as i had hoped. I have had much less problems for less money with my prior tattoos, that also took this similar amount of prep time. This is just my honest experience. I want others to be able make as educated a decision as possible. ORIGINAL REVIEW: Overall, my experience was not unpleasant, just disappointing. The pricing was inconsistent and steep compared to surrounding artists ($100 for 2.5"×1" b&w outline tattoo, ~45 seconds of shading; other nearby artists i have gotten 4"x2" for $100/$120 with more shading). Second time going to Taylor. First time was a cover up and added a new piece today. Still red, but she will heal. Line work and then color. Super clean and sanitary, everything is opened in front of you. Vibes are super chill, indie with a modern twist. Taylor cares about her business and her clients and it shows with her work and staff as well as working with you on what you want. Her creative process is amazing and she is honest about the process. Definitely will keep supporting Taylor and her business!
