I called to set up a consultation. They said to fill out the form on their website. I filled out the form. Then I got an email saying send pics to another email. So I did that. Then 10 days went by with no response. So I called and left them a message. They emailed me saying they were all booked and that my name will be put on the list but they can't guarantee anything. So I emailed back saying I was getting the feeling like they wanted me to go somewhere else. They replied that wasn't it at all. But there are 400 people on the waiting list before me. So it took 20 days and emails and phone calls to find out they are booked up for who knows how long. I'm sure they are very talented. But they could have let me know. My recommendation is if you actually want to get a tatoo try somewhere else.

alex/xandra has been the artist that i have trusted for a long time. i have been beyond impressed with all of her work and am so happy to have her art on my skin forever. she’s so kind and is up for any project that i present to her. every time i look at my tattoos from her i'm filled with a sense of confidence and joy. i 1000% recommend her to anybody looking for color-packed bold tattoos! and honestly anything else! i know that i will be a lifelong client to her, she’s very sweet and produces amazing work. the environment at black hydra is safe and welcoming. the staff is very nice and easy to get along with. this is the shop that i will keep on coming back to. as a queer person i feel that this is a very safe space; it is full of art and personality. my favorite tattoo shop by far. definitely check them out!

I have been going to Brad for tattoos for years and was more than happy to follow him to his, Emily and Mat’s new studio. Very clean, professional, well-maintained and full of interesting art and decorations. I like that over half of the tattoo artists are female, I like the lack of toxic masculinity and I particularly like the welcoming vibe for every kind of human, which is important to me as an outwardly lgbtq person. The artists all create high quality, beautiful and thoughtful art in multiple styles and will make sure you leave with something you love. Highly recommended if you’re looking for a studio you can trust to deliver a high quality piece of art for you.
