AJ did such an incredible job fixing up an old tattoo and adding some additions to it to make it more meaningful and special. She and Abyss are incredibly accommodating and beyond friendly. Although I don’t live anywhere close to the tattoo studio I am making a trip back to have AJ do another tattoo for me in the near future. Highly recommend their clean and aesthetically pleasing atmosphere, friendliness, and accommodating staff.

After checking out Brian’s designs that he has posted on the shop’s website, I was hoping that he would be able to work an octopus into some other work that I had done on my arm. We met for a consult and was able to get a time scheduled. I am beyond happy with the work that Brian did. He’s super personable, easy to work with, and plowed through a pretty large piece. Brian would be the first person I would talk to about getting anything else done.

I called for a consultation and met summer. I went in for a piece I’ve wanted for 3 years and summer took care of me quickly, she used elements from the sources I had given her and came up with an amazing design! I originally wanted it on my forearm but she gave me her professional opinion to move it to my upper arm since the fine details wouldn’t appear as clear and because I had other tattoos that wouldn’t allow it to be a good size. I’m very open to professional criticism and agreed and I do not regret it! She did an amazing job, the lines were clean and the healing process was the easiest I ever had. I’m going back to finish it tmrw. She’s very friendly, helpful, professional and an amazing artist, I would definitely recommend! Another plus is that everyone that works there is super nice and makes sure that you’re comfortable & the prices are very reasonable.

Ronda Xanthos is an incredibly talented artist, who takes the time to listen to what the customer is trying to do, and adds her experienced thoughts on what can work best. Once a design is agreed upon, her clean lines and attention to detail set her work apart. I have 5 pieces by Ronda, and think so highly of her work that I've followed her from NYC's lower east side, to uptown, and out to LI! Highly recommend her. Clean shop, very professionally run.

I’d just like to say , as someone who has been getting tattooed for over 30 yrs , Abyss is an awesome shop. I was looking to add on to some Japanese style work that I had done by another quite well known artist who no longer lives in the area. Finding an artist of the same caliber isn’t as easy as you’d think. Then I found Ronda. Needless to say she more than met my expectations. She did an incredible job and was a pleasure to work with , from design to execution and her personal was a bonus. I’ve become a regular customer and everyone in the shop , Paul ,Dan and Mike do amazing work in a variety of styles. The vibe is awesome and along with being professional they’re all a lot of fun. They’ve become one of the premier shops around , I highly recommend.

I got a tattoo from Ronda, she's an awesome artist. It's a great little local shop! Everyone in the place were super professional, considering the restrictions of the Corona they did everything by the rules. One of the few places where I actually really liked all the works by all the working artists. Highly recommended.

Hi my name is Jennie Veryzer and I cannot say enough good things about this tattoo shop and especially about Ronda Xanthos who tattooed me on a whim When she was just about to pack up and leave for the evening. I was getting a matching tattoo with someone and while waiting for him to be finished with his I felt my anxiety building because I am much more of a planner and I am a perfectionist and I’ve only been to one other tattoo artist my entire life. Ronda Noticed me waiting nervously and came over and asked if Everything was all right. I practically broke down into tears when she asked. she was so comforting compassionate and warm. I was able to express to her my concerns and how I’m a perfectionist this is on my body forever and It needs to be perfect the list went on. She told me to wait a few minutes came back and said OK girl I got you. She then spent the next 2 1/2 hours catering to my every silly little request making sure I was always comfortable making sure I loved it and it came out so perfect I’m crying right now just remembering how awesome she did. From that day forward I knew she would be my new tattoo artist in my new town. She is currently in the process of drawing me The most amazing creative peace I will ever have. She includes me in every step of the way and is absolutely what are the best tattoo artists I’ve ever known. She is professional kind accommodating and never makes you feel silly for any question you may have I highly recommend her and Abyss fine art and tattoo studio. Everyone that works there is professional friendly and amazing.

Paul’s cover up turned into a sick piece, the original tattoo is completely undetectable and the new one is a work of art. A second one is in progress to finish out a 1/2 sleeve. Paul is a true artist, totally worth the wait!!

I wish I would’ve found this place a heck of a lot sooner. I got my last three tattoos at The Abyss by three different artists and each one was an excellent experience. Their professionalism combined with their skill and outgoing personalities is second to none. I don’t have too much open skin left for more ink but whatever tattoos I do get I’m not going anywhere else. I can’t recommend this place enough. My only regret is I found this place about 30 years too late

Abyss is the place to go for phenomenal tattoos created by super talented, professional artists. No attitude here. Just a group of people doing what they love in a fun, clean space. Look forward to visiting again soon.

Dan the Man came through for me on a portrait of H.P. Lovecraft. Ol' Howard never looked so good! I got to get work done by this shop when they flew into Austin for the Star of Texas Tattoo and Art Revival expo in January. I put the deposit down in December and Dan had a stencil ready for me the day of my appointment. Dan was professional, courteous, and got some Bactin for me when we knew we were going to need it, and he never made me feel like a chicken about it. When things looked to be going a little sideways in healing, Dan offered to fixit without batting an eye. Can't wait to see Dan and the guys from Abyss Fine Art & Tattoo Studio when they come back in January. Head on in to the shop in Long Beach and don't hesitate to reach out for work when the guys go to expos. Great experience!

They should def include somewhere visible and let u know that deposits are non refundable. even during a time of global crisis. It literally takes me 2 days (16hrs) to make the deposit I left for a tattoo that was never even drawn up. Dan could have been courteous during all of this and choose to give my deposit back but he chose not to. Rather, chose to not help out and make it sound like hes suffering financially. Please man. I'm a single working mom.. dont give me that. but np.. were all suffering.. it's all about helping each other out. no one said I dont want the tattoo.no one said I wouldn't pay you. I simply requested for my $150 back so I can buy food for my house bc my kid is home and I lost my job. I'm literally typing this sick in bed. but enjoy the free money. karma friend. I understand deposits may not be refundable ... but u never told me that..or showed me the sign.... u just took all the money I had in my wallet to give and said nothing. matter fact... details that were discussed about tattoo and placement ... u asked about again a month later..indicating u had no idea what we had said or that u did any work on it. BEWARE!!!! NO HUMAN COURTESY!!!!!!
