Where do I begin with my thoughts on 10 Thousand Foxes - Astoria? This is hands down the best tattoo shop in NYC!!! The level of professionalism, cleanliness, and artistry is top notch! Nichole, the shop manager, is an absolute saint! She'll make sure you have all of the necessary information you need before and after your session(s). She's also a warm presence in the shop who enjoys chatting with clients and provides refreshments to all. Tim, co-owner & resident artist, was the first artist I had spoken with regarding my piece. He was ecstatic about the design (and also it being my first tattoo ever).Given the fact I was looking at getting a realism black & grey Valkyrie portrait, he recommended I have it done by one of their guest artists who specializes in this style. Boy was he right! My artist, Ruben Diaz, delivered a design beyond my wildest expectations. The level of detail in it as well as its sheer beauty is something to behold (the final result is attached to this review). Yes the entire process did hurt, but it was well worth it in the end. I can only say thank you to Nichole, Tim & everyone at 10K Foxes for your hospitality & professionalism! A huge thanks are in order to Ruben who delivered a beautiful portrait I'm proud to wear! I'm truly happy with how she turned out! This will be an experience I will never forget! To those looking to get tattooed, whether it be your first or your tenth, I suggest you stop by 10K Foxes. You will not be disappointed.

I got a matching tattoo there with my sister and all of the staff was extremely helpful. Nicole at the front desk was very informative and let us know exactly what to expect and the process of booking an appointment. Lexi our artist couldn’t have been more of a perfectionist and very personable making my sister and I feel welcomed and comfortable. All of the staff had a genuine helpful and realistic opinion on our tattoos and Lexi brought our ideas to life. My sister and I could not be happier with the results. Where do I begin. Nichole who does the appointments was super helpful and was such a pleasure to work with. Tim who I can't thank enough was the artist who worked on my arm. Walking into a tattoo shop for the first time can be really intimidating, almost like arriving at a party where you don't know anyone but they all know each other. But I never felt that way at 10 Thousand Foxes, back when it was Body Language Tattoo nearly a decade ago. Everyone there was welcoming and professional, and made my experience great enough that I've been back like 12 times. I had a truly wonderful experience getting tattooed at 10 Thousand Foxes. First, the communication with Nichole for selecting an artist, scheduling, and preparing for my appointment was seamless and extremely detailed. I had every bit of information I could have wanted going into my appointment, and the same goes for during the appointment. Everyone in the shop was wearing masks, and they sanitized my cell phone before bringing it into the tattoo station. They even used a specific ink for me because I'm allergic to nickel. Zong did a beautiful job on my tattoo. It's a fine line, minimalist design and the execution was so precise and perfect. Zong, Nichole, and everyone else in the shop were extremely kind and attentive. It was just an overall great experience and highly recommend this shop.

After more than 40 hours under her brilliant hands, I can say with absolute authority that Rain is a consummate professional. Her art is extraordinary, both on the page and on the skin. I came to Rain with a fairly vague concept ("I want wings, but like if they were from Lothlórien the way Tolkien drew it....") and her initial rendering stunned me - it was gorgeous. A few minor changes later and we started the process of transforming my entire back. The end result is nothing short of perfect. For the first time in my life, I'm looking forward to wearing a bathing suit...because I can't wait to show off my wings! 10 Thousand Foxes is cleaner than a hospital, and Nichole is fastidious in keeping it that way. This shop is the only place other than my home where I felt totally safe during the pandemic. Mask were worn by everyone at all times, hand sanitizer was readily available, and of course Rain was hyper-vigilant about her workstation and equipment. It may sound obvious, but I was very grateful for these protocols, particularly during COVID. Long story short: if you want an incredible work of art that will be with you for the rest of your life, book an appointment with Rain. Her creativity and talent are boundless, and she is a true joy to work with.

10 thousand foxes is more than a tattoo shop, its a collection of people who're genuinely friends first and foremost the work is exceptional everyone is extremely skilled, clean and focused. So let's talk about the Art I'm a darker skinned person and thought some tattoos just wouldn't be possible for me Nasa made the panels/designs come to life with such amazing detail I'm honestly shocked every tattoo she has done for me came out better than what I pictured in my mind when I go to her I ALWAYS know I'm in good hands. I also regret I didn't find her sooner I honestly wish I could have all my work done by her and this is the highest form of Compliment I could give someone Tim's work is also amazing and I hope one day soon I'll be able to get someone from him but where he really shines is how he and Nichole set the tone for the shop they're very kind pretty always making sure you're ok and very welcoming that kind of hospitality can't be faked This combined with the vibe of the shop makes it a must go shop a perfect example of this was I only wanted 1 tattoo at first after my first experience I was hooked and I've been back two more times since.
