I had a wonderful experience at Old Crescent, just as good as the first. Everything from Justin's drawing, to the cleanliness of the studio, and friendliness of the entire staff made it such a comfortable experience. If you're looking for a neotraditional tattoo in the Charlotte area, Justin is amazing. His color work is top notch, and I get constant compliments about all the pieces he's done for me. This latest one takes the cake.

My tattoo did not come out the way it was supposed to. When I arrived the drawning did not look like what I wanted. The white in my tat disappeared. Right after that tattoo before the ink disappeared I tried to schedule another. Glad I didn't. Went to another artist 3 weeks later and the white stayed. Apparently Scott doesn't know how to tattoo melanated people. Also, Scott tried to over charge me on the second tat after seeing my car, jewelry and clothes. As well Scott was stand-off and distant. I do not recommend this shop. In response: We discussed in detail the tat before in person with pics at the shop. We communicated in person and via IG. If there were any confusion on tat a simple text would have surficed. The drawing eventually was approved however a wolf is not a cat and that was the draft. Also you did not tell me the white may fade. I overheard you mention that to the apprentice but it was not mentioned to me however the last artist got it right. As well when I asked for a quote for the additional tat, the quote was more for a small tat with way less detail that took another artist 2 hrs to complete as you were trying to charge me more than the wolf that took longer. When I asked why you told me I should probably use a different shop as I was happy to do. I think if one messed up they should take responsibility not pawn mistakes off as if there's no room for growth. However no hard feelings and good luck.

I love this place! After moving to Charlotte in 2020, I was in need of finding a fantastic new artist and found Scott, the owner, and couldn’t be happier! So far I’ve gotten three pieces, one of which was of my dog (which I wouldn’t trust just anyone to do) and plan on getting many more. As a woman, sometimes it’s intimidating walking into a new tattoo shop for the first time, but not the case at Old Crescent. The shop is open, bright and clean and everyone is so friendly. The prices are on point as well, as I’ve have quite a few tattoos from several different artists and know what to expect. I’ll continue to come here for my tattoos as long as their doors are open. Thanks again Scott!

I got the most stunning piece from Justin. You can see the attached picture. Everything about my experience was stellar. The studio itself is beautiful and extremely hygienic. The actual tattoo couldn't have come out better. Justin really listened to what I was interested in, and put his own fingerprint on the design to make it his own too.
