Love Melissa Baker!!!

I had a great experience with Laura. I provided several detailed ideas I had for a custom tattoo and she created such a great piece. I had a real nice time chatting w/ her and made my first tattoo experience a comfortable and enjoyable one. Much gratitude to her.

I adore Melissa Baker and Icon Tattoo. I've gotten 3 tattoos from Melissa in the past 1.5 years and she did an incredible job transforming my ideas into permanent artwork. I've been getting tattooed since the age of 16, and Melissa is by far, the most detailed and caring tattoo artist that I've come across. She takes her time, especially when it comes to placement to ensure I am 110% in love with it before she starts inking. You can tell she is super attentive when it comes to her work while also ensuring her clients are comfortable. She is a true professional and it absolutely shows in the tattoos she's done on me. As a newer resident to the Portland-area, I am so glad I found Melissa! Icon Tattoo is truly a special place. I always feel so calm and comfortable during my sessions. The atmosphere, the ambiance, and most importantly, the entire crew here are exceptional and so kind. This is no ordinary tattoo shop - your experience here will be the best you've come across. I also want to mention that Icon is super clean, hygienic, warm, and safe. Thank you, Melissa & Icon, for always making my visits so exceptional! <3

Been to Icon a few times now, shop is always very clean and Lucky is easy to work with. Latest tattoo was much bigger than I've got in the past and I'm shocked how straight and precise he got the lines. Definitely would recommend.

Been coming here for nearly 10 years (averaging 1 visit a year). In my opinion, the best shop in Portland. Solid service, beyond solid work, will be coming here for years to come!

I was lucky enough to be tattooed by Lorin Devine at Icon Tattoo on 6/24/22. The staff were welcoming, the space was beautiful and comfortable, and Lorin's approach was safe, hygienic, and trauma-informed. I am beyond happy with the artistry and quality of my tattoo. I cannot recommend Icon and Lorin enough!

I got my second ever tattoo from Lisa here back in the day, and I still get compliments on her work; I've always been fond of Icon because they were one of the first woman-owned tattoo shops I became aware of, and it really set the standard for my expectations in the tattoo scene going forward. They've always been really chill and nice there, and the artists do outstanding work that stands the test of time.

I had the best experience at Icon!!! The space is beautiful, and everyone is so welcoming and nice. Willis is extremely talented and makes beautiful art! It was my first tattoo, and they made the process super comfortable. I'm ridiculously happy with my tattoo and will definitely be back in to work with Willis again. Good vibes overall.

Oh man. So sad my experience was not great. Came in to get a tattoo for my birthday, came in early because someone had canceled on “Lucky”... only to get there and have to wait for two hours while her worked on a few walk-in’s. Now, I was super excited and happy to wait, I mean what’s two hours, I’ve been waiting for years. Then when talking with Lucky he kept insisting I do the tattoos I had emailed him designs of and roughly the size I wanted, he kept pushing me to go bigger. Eventually I agreed for one of the two we had planned... while I don’t hate it. I realize it’s not what I wanted. And I’m writing this for the women who have a hard time being firm with what they want, Lucky may not be your guy. I’m also writing this for the people who are potentially getting their first tattoo and want a warmer experience. Lucky is not your guy, he did not talk with me at all during our sessions. He also quoted me $100/hr. And after waiting two hours and having a quick 15min session he charged me $150. Again, I was alone, and I’m really bad with confrontation. I’d rather laser this off, which I am, than deal with the anxiety of telling someone I don’t like them. wish I had had one of my friends with me to help me be stern. Regardless it’s done. It’s not what I asked for, and I acknowledge I should have just walked out, but if you know what I’m talking about and it resonates with your don’t go with Lucky.

Last week I went in for an appointment with Willis, the shop was BEAUTIFUL, the staff all very friendly. Willis went out of their way to make sure I was comfortable, offering to set up privacy barriers. Its by far the safest and most comfortable I've felt getting tattooed. They also are an incredible artist and I'm so happy with my tattoo. It's healing wonderfully. Thank you so much Willis I appreciate you and will definitely be booking again in the future ❤️

Willis Van Pelt is an incredible artist. When I sat down with her for my consult on a tattoo I needed covered up I wasn’t sure how to explain what I wanted and since it was a cover up I was even more unsure about how to work in what was in my head. She created something more miraculous than I could have imagined. Her detail is incredible the cover up was an incredible success. I just couldn’t be more thankful and I will be visiting Icon again soon asking for Willis.

I had a pretty great experience here. The shop is clean and welcoming. They had great guidelines in place for COVID as well. Melissa did a great job on my tattoo. I had sent her some ideas and she drew something I will alway cherish. Melissa was efficient and really seems to take pride in her work. She also made me feel very comfortable which is a huge deal for me when getting a tattoo. Everyone in the shop seemed laid back but professional. Good taste in music as well. I would highly recommend Icon and Melissa is you are shopping for a new tattoo. But I am sure all the artists there are awesome!
