Visiting from out of town, and I’ve had the same artist do all my tattoos. So I was a little anxious doing a walk-in, but knew what I wanted and wanted to get it in Austin. I very promptly got assigned to Vanessa it couldn’t have been more than 10 minutes, so the wait was nothing! Vanessa is very nice, and extremely talented. She tattooed my knee, which is a difficult spot, and the line work came out as straight as could be. The owner (who I didn’t catch his name) consistently came by checking to see if I need anything, and provided me with a complimentary water. He even gave some great advice on how to tweak my tattoo to make it more appealing. Very enjoyable process, clean shop, good vibes, great music, talented artists. Definitely recommend!

Came in with my friends to get tattoos and was completely ignored by the staff everyone in the shop passed by me several times and not once did anyone ask if I wanted a tattoo but asked others that came in after me finally one of my friends was done and 30 minutes after she was done finally someone asked if I wanted a tattoo but it was no point since my other friend was almost done and I know mines would have took a couple of hours

Went to get a walk-in tattoo here. Was there around 12:15 (their website states they open at 12pm) door was locked and no one would answer the phone so I went somewhere else.

Jamie and the staff here are incredible! The second I walked in I was instantly greeted with friendly faces. I was honestly thrown off because it’s not what I’m used to when I go to a shop. Paco the owner is amazing. He constantly walked around making sure everyone was good, if they needed water or food.. it was overall an awesome vibe. Their sign when you walk in holds true, even to the artists. Jamie tattooed me and she was phenomenal. I didn’t want just anyone to tattoo my baby. I am still shocked that I managed to get an appointment with her. She is a master at her craft and the time is worth it. There was one little area where I wanted to add a little more definition but ended up saying “it’s fine” and she instantly said “no! It’s not fine. Please tell me what you’re thinking!” wanting to make sure it was absolutely perfect. She’s so sweet and social too! Has a killer music taste as well! Overall it was an incredible experience and can’t believe I will forever have my baby on me and look amazing.

I was really excited about this shop after doing some instagram research, but had a very discouraging interaction with Chris that absolutely ruined my day :/ I was spoken to in a rather passive aggressive tone that felt very condescending and was completely dismissed.

The artists at Electric 13 are incredible. From the moment you step in, they make your experience friendly, comfortable, and focused on you. Always ready to chat, discuss, and design your perfect piece, they have a myriad of styles and are ready to find the best artist to suite the masterpiece you want. They don't force ideas, but also are not afraid to let you know when something won't work, is a bad plan, or will not age gracefully. I've worked with Paco and Derek specifically, who've pulled my vague designs out of my imagination and envisioned them into badass artwork. It's never dull, and I keep coming back for more.

So I typically don’t write bad reviews or voice my voice on stuff like this but my experience was less than great. I decided to book with Derek for an arm sleeve and after 4 hours my body couldn’t handle the pain anymore. I kept saying I’m ready to tap out and he continued to tattoo me despite me asking several times due to not wanting to redo the stencil. By the end of it my legs were convulsing out of trauma which has never happened with my most recent tattoos. It was a really u comfortable experience and now the tattoo isn’t done and I don’t want to go back. It’s really hard for me to voice out like this because part of me feels I’m being dramatic but I even just got a stomach tattoo that I didn’t have this happen. I believe that most of the tattoo artists are great people but it just wasn’t a good experience to spend that much money on something that isn’t going to get finished and is on my body permanently. When someone says they want to tap out.. let them tap out 🙁

Walking At 3:00 in the afternoon with my son in tow, He just turned 18 and asked me for his 1st tattoo. Not being from Austin I really don't know where to go so I looked at reviews just like this one. And Boy oh boy did we get lucky. Jamie Mahood was available for a walk-in. After doing a little bit of research and talking to some friends of mine that are heavily into the tattoo world I was informed that I was about to get inked by a world famous tattoo artist. Not wanting to miss this opportunity we went ahead and designed something she took the time to make sure it was perfect looked great before before she ever put ink on my arm. I couldn't be happier with her ability style is horribility style critique and design. We left the shop 7 and a 1/2 hours later with a piece of art that I have on display proudly. Thank you.

Derek took us as walk-ins and was able to accommodate us pretty quickly. He was very kind and made us feel comfortable, which we really appreciated as this was our first time getting a tattoo. The first picture was the one I showed him as inspiration, and the second is his work. My boyfriend had a starry crown concept in mind which Derek brought to life. Overall I would definitely recommend this shop!
