Southside Tattoo

Got my first tattoo here as a walk in! Service was awesome and Jeff was super friendly throughout the tattoo process. Definitely recommend this place!!!!

Jeffrey Tate is my guy for alllll of my tattoos. He is very easy going, helpful with ideas, and an amazing artist.

Southside tattoo has amazing talent working there. Everyone is friendly and the overall vibe reminds me of what Austin used to be back in 07-09.

This is my third tattoo at Southside tattoo, and I highly recommend. The artist that did this particular tattoo is Pedro. He did such a great job and delivered an excellent tattoo!

I’ve been here a couple of times and had an amazing experience, so much so that when I came back to Austin with my girlfriend I wanted to take her to get a tattoo. This most recent time was different, we arrived at 3 waited 2 hrs, then 3 hrs, then it’s finally 6:30 and they let a walk-in get his tattoo done within minutes of walking in. While me and my girlfriend are sitting there holding our sketch’s for hours. I understand that things may not always work out but the overall feeling we got from the staff was that they did not want our business and felt very ignored. Ended up leaving after they asked if we could wait another hour. They didn’t want my business therefore they will not receive it.

Was put on the waitlist when we walked in (which was fine) so my boyfriend and I decided to walk around to kill time. We walked around for an hour and decided we should go back to the shop and just wait there. We walked in and we saw we were up next on the list. We sat and waited for 2 HOURS before someone finally came up to us and told us that we would probably need to wait another hour or come back tomorrow. My boyfriend and I ended up just leaving because a walk-in had come in and was taken back within minutes of arriving. Clearly they didn’t want our business, so we didn’t want theirs.

Noska was amazing. Came in with an idea and he absolutely killed it. I I highly recommend seeing him. Also a very nice person to talk to!

I wanted a souvenir from my trip to Austin and my friend suggested this shop as he's had work done there in the past. The guys at Southside were friendly and accommodating to a tourist with only the vaguest idea of what I wanted. Kristian was the only one taking walk ins, and while I was on the table 4 or 5 more people came in to get on the books. He was quick and efficient but didn't rush, and it was one of the most painless tattoos I've had done. The shop is nothing fancy which means their work speaks for itself. Price was reasonable for a well crafted piece of flash on the fly. Next time I'm in Austin I'll go back to add to my collection. She's 3 days old and a little scabby but absolutely beautiful. I love when a tattooer considers all the art on your body when they choose placement and palette, and my little spider complements all the rest beautifully. Thank you guys so much!

Went here for my first tattoo after researching some places, I highly recommend Bart! He made the experience really comfortable and enjoyable, and he had great conversation. The shop overall is clean and the staff are friendly.

David is amazing! This was my first tattoo and I wanted something very thin and he nailed it. Everyone else was super friendly as well. Highly recommend.

Marcelo is AMAZING. He is so incredibly talented. I lost my boy Tyson two weeks ago and Marcelo was able to get me in asap and designed the most beautiful and perfect tribute. Marcelo is very kind, personable, checked in often, and very thorough. I was comfortable the entire time, everybody at the shop was awesome and accommodating. Every interaction felt personable. They're also reasonably priced. I found Marcelo on Instagram @mp.tatt. I would have never thought I could afford a tattoo from here. But they're super competitive and fair. Everyone was really nice and kept admiring his work. The shop is very clean too. They had a nice playlist and lots of cool stuff to look at. I cannot recommend this place enough. Insanely impressive. Definitely repeat customers.

Had visited Texas from Chicago and decided to do a spontaneous activity. I did a walk-in session for butterflies tattoo. David took me in in a friendly manner. He is very skilled! All tattoo artists were very welcoming and nice. Thank you Southside Tattoo for an unforgettable experience!

Rude women dark hair with curls. Me and friends came in to get multiple tattoos and we were streaming our experience to document it and people called because they saw where we went and made up lies OBVIOUSLY on the phone and she believed whatever they said and cursed us out and refused our business as we nicely explained they are calling trolls that have no lives! Rude!

Great people with amazing talent. I got a back tattoo here and I was so happy with it that I already started working with them on a design for a second tattoo

My fiancé and I stopped in on our cross country road to get tattoos that would remind us of our trip. We are both really unhappy with how they turned out and the overall lack of care that went into them. We were pretty specific on what we wanted and the “preview” tracings looked fine too. Our tattoo artist, Kristian, was nice enough but definitely didn’t really care about the quality of his work nor if we were happy with the tattoos. We are both planning on getting them fixed (if we can) at a tattoo shop back at home.

Bart Willis was able to squeeze me into his schedule within a day of me emailing him. He was so kind and took the time to explain what would work best for the tattoo I wanted. There were just a couple of tweaks he made to make sure it was done in a manner that would look best and last the longest. I couldn't be happier with it and I can't wait to surprise my wife with it in a few days for our anniversary!
