A Living Canvas Tattoo

I went here to get my old jewelry removed and placer put in. I did not expect their piercer to be a literal Angel! She made the process more tolerable and gave me so much knowledge about after care and jewelry. Highly recommend going here, you’ll have the best experience. Raylynn is the best.

My piercer Ray was awesome! She was absolutely thorough and talked me through everything she was going to do as far as my piercings. I just saw her this past Tuesday and I would highly recommend going to her. My piercings look great. The shop was very clean. She made me feel very comfortable. Thanks Ray!

Caleb was awesome! I called to make sure they could do a walk-in and they scheduled me the same day. The staff were friendly and professional; everything was clean and atmosphere was warm. The tattoo itself is beautiful and I will definitely be coming back for more.

Paid $140ish for ear piercings and they got 10X more infected than when I went to Claire’s :( I cleaned them twice a day and they got huge infected lumps around the left ear. Disappointed cause I thought it would be more hygienic this way. Update: still the worst piercing Ive gotten even after 7 months my ear piercing now is growing large and the stud can actually slip through the back of the hole :| Never had that happen before and they still get infected.

I had a great experience here today as a walk in for help with a piercing. I was unable to remove my threaded nostril piercing by myself without hurting my nose. Their piercer was laid back, but professional and changed out my nostril stud in no time. No pain and I was in and out in under 15 minutes.

Took my seven year old daughter here to get her first ear piercing. Ray was so friendly, clean and professional. My daughter and I felt at ease the whole time. The piercing looks great and the communication from start to finish was A+

Friendly staff. Mainly spoke to Ray the peircer. She got me out of a pinch by having some tunnels in stock. Definitely worth a stop.

I will refrain judgement for the business as a whole, and have no opinion of the other artists that work here, but Genevieve is not a professional piercer. I came in to get a double forward helix, and she briefly glanced at my ear and gave me an immediate "No." She said it was because I didn't have the right ear anatomy, but after this encounter I went to a real professional who has been doing piercings for 20+ years and he actually examined my ear, felt the area where the piercing would be, and gave me all the reasons why my ear has the right anatomy for it. I wish Genevieve would have just been honest by saying she didn't feel comfortable doing the piercing instead of pretending to look at my ear and falsely blaming my anatomy.

Gen was fantastic! Overall service from front desk initial experience to actually getting the work completed was as expected and then even more! I highly recommend this place. I have never had ink done before, so this was a brand new experience. I walked in off the street with a general idea of what I wanted. Gen walked me through their sterilization procedure and what to expect the day of my appointment. She also was very communicative and accommodating to my hesitation about different aspects of my tattoo. She took my idea and gave me several different options that she drew herself that blew me away and were far above my original expectations. She walked me meticulously through aftercare (after I honestly probably bothered her too much about literally every aspect of the procedure). The price was more than fair and the artwork itself is fantastic. I will definitely be coming back! I can’t speak for any other artists on staff, but I will be coming back just for Gen. If everyone else that works there is of her caliber then there is no reason not to visit. The communication from start to post finish was exactly what I needed and above what was expected. The artwork is amazing. I highly recommend, especially for anyone with a first time experience. Thank you so much, Gen!!

Genevieve is AMAZING…….She was so kind and made sure I was happy with the design I chose and the placement was perfect. She is excellent with communication and the tattoo was done before I even realized. I’ll be going back and I already have a list of pieces I want her to do!!!

After reading all the great reviews I was hoping to have a better experience than I did. My best friend and I went and got a tattoo and a couple of piercings. The tattoo artist/piercer seemed very annoyed that we were taking up her time. Not a pleasant experience to say the least. Was a real bummer, we were super excited to try this place out. The rest of the staff seemed nice though.

I DO NOT RECOMMEND!!!! Find another shop... I made a appointment last week for a piercing. A day before I received a text asking me to reschedule because they didn’t have any nose rings in-stock. I was more then willing to reschedule with no problem. Then when I actually showed up For my appointment I was told they was close when the sign says Sat-8pm. So I pulled out my text msgs and showed the tattoo artist where I reschedule,she read it and said oh yes that’s me. sorry the front desk girl never made my appointment so then I ask well who is this in text that I was talking to she said it’s me... so now I’m all the way confuse ... your the one going to be the one doing my piercing and your the one who text me in the first place and now your telling me someone else forgot to make the appointment... I drove all the ways from Dallas because I was refer to this place... big mistake and top of it all I was never offered to reschedule. I was told to reach out to them on Monday .... extremely poor customer service... it doesn’t matter how well your work is when you can’t even give proper decent customer service (it’s really not that hard) you waste people time and money so do your self afavor FIND ANOTHER SHOP!!!!!!!!

Very quiet and laid back place, very different than the tattoo parlors of old in Deep Ellum. There are 2 types of shops in my observations: party shops where drunk people can all get matching tattoos after the bars close, and shops where you go to get quality work done. This place is the latter of the two. EDIT/UPDATE: yeah this place WOULD be worth the 5 stars I originally gave it, IF one of the 16 year old teenagers who "operate" the front desk would ever call me back. It's been 8 months since I got the first part of my work done, I'd like to get the rest completed!!! Guess Facebook or whatever the hell else those kids are fiddling with are more important than a paying customer.

Living Canvas Tattoo is a great place... the owner has more than 30 years experience, and the shop itself looks very cool. The Artist, Kory, who did my Tattoo is a perfectionist and is a true master of the trade! I highly recommend this shop, and went there based on recommendations from friends. Five Stars +
