I was tattooed by Matt Crawley. I had 2 sessions that totaled 8 hours. Summary Pros: Clean and friendly facility, Matt was good at small detail, fair pricing. Cons: Surfacey consultations, wants to do his own thing, won’t do touch ups (even when there’s prominent mistakes in the piece), takes forever to respond, spelled a word wrong in my tattoo. Detailed Review: Start off with some pros: it’s a clean facility. The different artists / apprentices and overall vibe when walking in was very friendly. In my opinion he was very good at the small face detail he did for me. Pricing was fair. Now to list some cons: Overall I was disappointed with the consultation. I booked out 4-5 months out and Matt told me we would go back and forth (over Instagram) to nail down what I wanted 3 days before my actual appointment. However he took so long to respond that I felt lucky he even responded when he did. The second appointment we never went back and forth, not for lack of me trying. I showed up and didn’t like the initial design. He tried reworking it there on the spot, but wasn’t really listening to what I was saying. He told me “if you have something super specific in mind I’m probably not the right artist for you”. Mind you I was open to suggestions and desperately wanted an artist’s opinion to help come up with something that would look awesome. I’ve heard tattoo artists offer touch ups after a session. Now maybe this is an assumption on my part. However, if you’re expecting a touch up from Matt.. don’t. He read my message about a touch up (that he recommended) and never responded. I sent him a few others and nothing. I’m completely ghosted.

I recommend Reverence Tattoo to all my friends! I've been getting tattooed by Matt Crawley for years. We are currently working on a sleeve and as always I couldn't be happier with his work. I often am stopped by people while waiting in line places and get complimented on his work. I recently also went to Gabby Mack for a fine line tattoo on my sternum and it's beautiful. As a whole I would say the owners of Reverence Tattoo are very particular about who they add to the shop so you can trust any of the artists they have here.

I LOVE getting my tattoos done here. Everyone is friendly and talkative, the art work is amazing, these tattoo artists are incredibly talented!! Matt does an amazing job on the work I get done and always does the best job and gives me exactly what I want.

Reverence is the cleanest, and most welcome atmosphere! They make the experience of getting a tattoo fun, and do amazing work! This is the only tattoo shop I will be going to from now on.

I went to tattoo artist Matthew Crawley, He did an amazing job on my floral leg sleeve. He is a very personable artist who is knowledgeable and made me feel welcome in his shop. The atmosphere of the shop is welcoming, upbeat, and full of good energy. Walking around the shop and using the restroom it was very clean at both appts. The owners of the shop truly take pride in the work that they do and have created an amazing shop that provides outstanding tattoos! If you’re looking for a tattoo artist/shop; I highly recommend reference tattoo in Salt Lake City Utah!! You won’t be disappointed.

I wish I could have found Matthew Crawley sooner. I’m so glad I was referred to him. He brought life into a back piece I thought was done for. His hands are magical. I’ve had a lot of ink done he’s by far the best. I definitely will be going to him for all my tattoos and I’ll be referring all my friends to his shop.

I've only gotten one tattoo done here but I fell in love immediately. My Artist, Megan, does incredible work. I came to her with a really simple idea! She wanted to go big though, and we both came of with a FIRE concept for the piece. I love the passion from her and the other artists. Definitely definitely recommending this shop to my other tattoo seeking friends

I’ve been going to Matt Peters for years and he is, by far, my favorite tattoo artist. Friendly, relatable, incredibly talented, the list goes on! The shop is always clean, everyone in there is friendly and warm.

Haven’t gotten a tattoo in over 10 years and looked around for a while here in Utah for a good artist. Ended up going with Matthew Crawley after seeing all his work on Instagram. Was not disappointed. Super friendly and clean shop filled with artists who all do awesome work. Will be returning for sure
