First of all, I’d like to say, the staff is so friendly and accommodating. I visited Alter Ego after visiting another local tattoo and piercing place that didn’t seem to want to do my piercing an hour before close, but walking into Alter Ego was wonderful from the time I walked in until I walked out! Dawn, the piercing lady, was so sweet and made me feel so comfortable the entire time and made my nerves disappear! The shop was very clean, if I ever want any thing else done this is 100% for sure the place I am going to go! Thank you, Alter Ego, and Dawn!

Dawn did my piercings and she is amazing! Super sweet and made me feel very comfortable. She also obviously knows what she’s doing and enjoys doing it! I gave 4 stars because of the price. I called around and they are actually more than twice the price of other shops for the same piercing. I wanted a female to do my piercings though so that’s why I went with this shop and I was very pleased with my visit.

I had a great experience!!!!! I went in very nervous about getting my nose pierced but the staff was very reassuring and friendly which helped me to feel more at ease. Dawn did an awesome job! I’ve been in several tattoo/ piercing studios and the crew at Alter Ego is by far the friendliest and most professional I’ve encountered! They genuinely care about you and what you want. Alter Ego, you guys ROCK!!!!!🙂

Went here for help with a quick hardware problem. They were super helpful and so professional. Then after it was in my ear they charged me $10 more than the price I had been quoted. When I got the chance to look at it(in my car) it was the wrong size. I guess it's my fault for not being more assertive. But just FYI it's hard to fight while having a migraine, having super low blood pressure and almost passing out everytime I stood. Having to fight for simply what I am paying for was not in my energy planning for the day.

The owner is very rude and unprofessional. I witnessed him screaming outside his business at customers numerous times. He’s getting people to make fake five star reviews to make the business look good. I would never recommend this place to anyone. He discriminated against lqbtq and women with to comments he made. I heard him all the way at McDonald’s across the street.

I went to Dawn for to get a piercing in my conch and a second nose piercing. She was soooo nice and explained everything in detail that I needed to do/not do in terms of aftercare. After I knocked my piercing, I came in to ensure it wasn’t infected. She cleaned my piercing and checked me up free of charge and recommend me a saline solution to help keep it clean. More recently, I hit it very hard while brushing my hair, it began to bleed and eventually fell out while washing my hair. I came in again. It was after she was done taking piercings, but she still made sure she saw me even though they’d technically closed for the night! She only charged me for the jewelry, and I left her a nice tip for taking such amazing care of me. Dawn is awesome, and I’d recommend her to anyone looking for a new piercing.

I have been here twice in the last few months, working with Jamie on a horror sleeve. I go back for our next session in two days and I absolutely can not wait. I love how friendly everyone in the shop is, and how welcoming they are! I’ve wanted to do this sleeve for a while and I never thought I’d find the place to do it, at least in Knoxville, and then I stumbled upon this place! Jamie has been absolutely amazing and I am in love with everything we have done so far! I can’t wait to see our finished product.
