Black 13 Tattoo Parlor

Had a wonderful experience getting my 1st forearm tattoo. Luke was my artist and I really liked him. He did an amazing job on my tattoo. The whole staff where very nice and professional. Hope to be making appointment to get my left shoulder done.

I read the reviews online about this place and decided from all the positive reviews, to give this a try.

I came to Nashville on my way to Little Rock, Arkansas. I decided to celebrate my 45th Birthday with getting my very first tattoo.

From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with such kind, caring and professional service from the lady at the desk. I was very lucky when she said that the artist could squeeze me in for an appointment later that evening. I booked my spot.

I had Luke as my artist and he took the time to sit down with me and go over the basic outlines. The 2 tattoos that I was having drawn on me, meant a lot to me
From the moment I met him, I had no doubts in my mind that this is what I wanted to do and I was not backing out.

The whole experience was awesome. When I got to see the end result, I was elated. What an AMAZING place this is. I am very happy I found it and with the end result.

If I ever get back to Nashville, I will book an appointment for a more detail tattoo.

I’ve been wanting a Kraken and pirate ship for a long time. Due to some less than ideal tattoos I’ve gotten in the past at other shops I did a ton of research before pulling the trigger. Let me tell you, Chris killed this dang thing! I got my forearm done and now I walk around thinking I am on an episode of ink master or something! Every chance I get, I roll up my shirt sleeve and let it show. So much better than I thought it would turn out. You definitely get what you pay for. The people who work the desk and phones were great too.

I will NEVER go to a different shop or Artist again. I’ll be back for more Chris.

I first contacted Black13 in late summer of 2019 for an appointment for myself and a friend in April of 2020. Something we'd be coming in from several states away for.

Then...2020 happened.

Our appointment had to be rescheduled four times.

For over a year, Danelle kept in touch with me by phone and email. The entire time, her only goal was getting us the experience we wanted. I honestly have never had better customer service from ANY other business. When Danelle was busy, Kimberly swung in to take care of us.

We were not returning customers. In fact, this was the first tattoo for both of us. The designs we wanted were not big jobs for the shop; not a lot of money. We wanted Nathan Fisher for his clean line work, though our design would use nowhere NEAR all of his skill. In spite of our basic request, and the year it took to get it done, they were amazing to deal with every step of the way. They treated us like long-time customers. Everyone there was caring and completely selfless - treating us as if what we wanted was their main goal.

Our artist Nathan was meticulous in his preparation and a complete professional who totally put us at ease. The lines he did on a piece that is ONLY lines (where you'd be able to see any variation in thickness or any little wobble) are consistent and even better than I'd hoped for. He included as much detail as physically possible.

I can't recommend them highly enough. I'd go back to them for more work in a heartbeat.

I have gotten ten tattoos here. I loved each experience. Communication concerning tattoo ideas is pretty easy and speedy. They talked me through each idea and gave me an accurate time/price quote for them. The place is extremely clean and professional. Each one of my tattoos has turned out exactly the way I wanted. I couldn’t recommend this place more. Brad Dozier did my most recent very large piece. The detail is phenomenal. I was blown away.

I got my first tattoo here years ago. It was a tiny cross on my wrist (which was $60). I had heard great things about this place so I wanted to take a chance. I don’t remember the tattoo artist that did mine, but long story short he went too deep into my wrist and it caused bleeding of the ink. So it looked like I took a sharpie to my wrist. I gave it about a month to heal because it was scabbed over and peeling for the first few weeks. After a month I decided I needed to have it touched up, so I emailed a lady at the front desk that i needed a touch up which i was informed at the time i got my tattoo would be free. Well it turns out it is only free within 3-4 weeks from getting the tattoo, which I wasn’t informed of a deadline at the time of the session. She said to have it touched up would be the full amount again, $60. So needless to say, I haven’t touched up my tattoo yet and I definitely won’t have anymore done here. The staff needs to work on communication and relaying important information to all of their customers.

I wouldn’t want to go anywhere else for a tattoo. Steve Martin did my 1st tattoo there (RIP) and it was great then and with the 2nd experience it was great as well. From the beginning Kimberly was amazing to communicate with and was even more of a joy to speak with at the shop. Brad was the one who did my 2nd tattoo there and also did a great job. He was honest about what would work despite my original plan and it turned out better. John there has done tattoos on my husband as well and he is also very talented and does awesome work! The booking in advance and the wait for certain artists is worth it for the quality. The staff is overall professional as well as the environment.

Loved this place! It was recommended by someone in Charlotte since we were visiting Nashville.
They took us as a walk-in. Nathan Fisher was a great tattoo artist and it didnt take him for more 1 hour to complete the beautiful tattoo. Loved the lobby and the vibe of the place.
So glad we went there!

I am still fairly new to Nashville but not to tattoos. I had been wanting new ink but hadn't found a place I liked yet. I found Black 13 Tattoo online and was so impressed just from their website. They have artists portfolios online so you can basically choose your artist. That's when I discovered Luke Baxter and I am so glad I did! The process from beginning to end was everything I could've hoped for. Getting my appointment scheduled and set up was so easy thanks to Danelle! They are following very strict guidelines for COVID and I greatly appreciated that. When I got to the studio, it was so clean and one of the nicest tattoo studios I've been to. Luke was SO kind and made me feel so comfortable the entire time (make sure you ask about Cheeto). I've gotten SOO many compliments on my tattoo and may even be my new favorite. Going forward I will tell anyone and everyone to visit Black 13 and to ask for Luke! I'll be back without a doubt! I'd give you guys 100 stars if I could!
